Do yourself a favor and do some research or watch some docs on the subject and you would be floored at how many sex partners the average gay man has by the time they are 30....the numbers sometimes are semi comparable to Wilts numbers. You are not going to tell me people with that many parters are always really choosy with who they bang.

Always enjoy the argument when someone says "Do your research" and then proceeds to provide zero evidence themselves.

I suggest you read up on subjects of this matter before you spreading your statement as fact. HIV is spread through the exchange of bodily fluids, blood included. How do you know whether Wilt used condoms or not?

Secondarily, the disease is scientifically proven to be spread based on different DNA and physical conditions. For example, heterosexual women are much more likely to be infected than heterosexual men - because of physical cases, not because of exchange of blood (e.g., anal sex).

You might learn a bit if you read this article.

This physical reason is why HIV spread rampant among gay men. Yes, I agree that promiscuous sex played a role in that, but until that time, men didn't believe they had any deathly reasons to use condoms and condoms were primarily created to stop pregnancies - not necessary among man on man sex.

It's quite possible to contract HIV by playing any role in vaginal or anal intercourse. Or from oral sex, for that matter.

If I recall correctly, the risk is not quite as great for a man who does not "receive" anal intercourse simply because there is less opportunity for him to absorb the bodily fluids of the infected person. But it can and does happen. Bodily fluids can enter the man's urethra and be absorbed. Or say you nick yourself whilst shaving your equipment. There's a method for bodily fluids to contact an open wound.

If you have unprotected sex with somebody who is infected, you risk being infected.

Anal sex between a man and a woman is hetero sex. While vaginal sex between two women is every bit as homosexual as anal sex between 2 men.

The point is, non anal sex between a man and a woman has much less risk in contracting the disease than anal sex between men. The fact of many partners in the 80's amongst gay men as well as the higher probability in the type of sex that was being had (anal) is what was responsible for the majority of the spread of hiv to epedemic proportions.

Well it's like two paragraphs telling you the results of a survey that they didn't conduct...so I'm not super sure what you think could be so biased about it. I almost suspect you didn't read what it says at all.

Not only that, I sorta suspect that digging up statistics on what gay people do or don't do is not relevant to whether it's stupid and childish to act like every gay dude out there is trying to rape you and being suuuuuper vigilant in locker room showers is the only way to protect yourself.

Are showers at sports arenas even communal? The entire notion of gay teammates and showers feels antiquated and contrived. Pretty much any facility built in the 90s or after put in shower stalls because we all realized that regardless of your orientation, most people prefer to shower alone. If Harper Hall could figure this out, I'm gonna take a wild guess that NBA locker rooms have shower stalls.

You're setting the bar WAY too high. A lot of people get their "news" from sites that don't make 1/10 the effort at being accurate that the ones above do. In fact a frightening number of people don't know how to discern a real, credentialed press source from a blog full of complete fiction.

Correct, that's not what I'm saying. Read the article. There are specific physical conditions (primarily male DNA and anal sex) that lead to the highest risk. A heterosexual male having vaginal sex unprotected is the least risky for the man, but more risky for the woman.

Read the article, it will make more sense.
