I suggest you read up on subjects of this matter before you spreading your statement as fact. HIV is spread through the exchange of bodily fluids, blood included. How do you know whether Wilt used condoms or not?
Secondarily, the disease is scientifically proven to be spread based on different DNA and physical conditions. For example, heterosexual women are much more likely to be infected than heterosexual men - because of physical cases, not because of exchange of blood (e.g., anal sex).

This physical reason is why HIV spread rampant among gay men. Yes, I agree that promiscuous sex played a role in that, but until that time, men didn't believe they had any deathly reasons to use condoms and condoms were primarily created to stop pregnancies - not necessary among man on man sex.
