OT Airline Status: Delta vs United vs American

Any AA executive platinums on here or UA 1k? If so, do you guys get 1st class domestic upgrades very often?

Delta Diamond upgrades have fallen off a cliff. Used to be around 50%, now under 10. It was one of the bright spots of my travel for work.

I am diamond with Delta and have the reserve card. We are seeing the same issue. Some of the perks are nice and the product is good, but I am paying a premium to fly on Delta and I am not sure it's worth it. If American was better than just OK, I probably would have made the switch. I will say that the price on American's first class seats is much better than Delta.

I was platinum on Delta for many years and rarely flew coach. Unfortunately, coach became so unbearable and first doesn't cost that much more (domestic) that all the first seats are sold for money before they go to premium members. Now that I retired and don't travel all the time I'm nothing. I have 600K on AA, 500K on Delta, 400K on UA and 300K on TWA. Wish they were all on Delta or AA.

I connect in Detroit. But fly out of Kalamazoo which is always first class. I fly into east coast and generally get first class with nothing worse than delta comfort. Very rarely am I situated with the poors

Flying from PHX into GRR tomorrow through Minneapolis and seated with the poors for the first leg. WTF?

I only got to diamond again bc of the mqm conversion. I don’t think I’ll be able to spend $28k on flights this year to keep it in 2026.

The new bs just to keep the lounge access is annoying as well. Spend $75k on the card. However, I easily have the best experience with delta out of all airlines. Prayers sent to the bastards who fly united or southwest

Executive Platinum here. AA doesn’t do waiting list upgrades on international flights. There are system wide upgrades that might be available depending on level of loyalty points. I routinely get upgrades to and out of Omaha. Harder to get upgrades out of Dallas or Phoenix. I think for coast to coast flights, people buy first class tickets.

IMO still too easy to reach 1k w the credit card so some riffraff is making its way to the happy side of the curtain

If my home airport (DIA) was a delta hub instead I’d be happier - it’s a better airline

I fly United fairly often but they have cut upgrades or rather it seems they are getting rid of them per the email I got last week. It's rare that I would get one, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to it, but their explorer card is going up to $150 fee annually starting Jan 1 2026. Their club passes are great when I can use them.. most overseas star alliance partners will not honor the club pass, so I'm likely going to ditch their card.
