Debating you is exhausting, lol.Correct!
Just like there are plays where the refs determined there was no hold, or offsides, or pass interference or grounding!

He can slide whenever he wants. Not a penalty if he takes a shoulder to the headNo, you can slide whenever you want. There is no possible flag for sliding late.
I guess I'm using poor choice of words. You said he was in mid- air. Meaning by laws of physics he couldn’t have possibly changed his trajectory. I believe Newton’s first law says a douchebag in motion will remain in said motion unless acted upon by an external force..
Unfortunately for you this all quickly implodes because he wasn’t in mid-air. He could up let up.. he went with the hit and like your credibility.. was penalized
He was sliding and got hitMy opinion is if people don’t like the rule they should petition to change it.
Ha!!Debating you is exhausting, lol.
Sure!He can slide whenever he wants. Not a penalty if he takes a shoulder to the head
Our defender was in a similar situation and jumped up flying over the player rather than hit them because we get called every time for thisBefore the actual hit, yes. But the defender lowered himself to make a tackle before DR started his slid.
Idk how a defender can stop mid-air to not hit a QB?
It was a flag that was picked up because the refs realized we had not converted a first down on the play. If we had converted, the unsportsmanlike call would have stood.Curious to what some of you think about the unsportsmanlike conduct flag being picked up a few plays later
So a huge gift to bc- I agreeIt was a flag that was picked up because the refs realized we had not converted a first down on the play. If we had converted, the unsportsmanlike call would have stood.
Oh I’d like to see the review process get streamlined and have a likely shorter list of plays for review. I think the slide needs to be one because it is being used more and more to draw the flag and get 15 yards than not.Too many things are already reviewable. Seemed like they were constantly stopping the game for one thing or another.
Bad call as well. Should’ve been a penalty. Now I’m off to get my T-level checked.Curious to what some of you think about the unsportsmanlike conduct flag being picked up a few plays later
We feel guilty about having scarlet privilege.I don’t get how Nebraska fans complain about anything going their way. Always act like they need to feel bad about some privilege or something.
Raiola has to use his legs like he did at the end of the game. He’s as big as some linebackers. He could be a punishing runner. If there is one thing I hope DR learns and emulates Mahomes is the ability to extend plays and take the hidden yards given to him. Mahomes excels at extending drives.
Want me to name all the bad calls we had against us this year?
I could start plenty in the Illinois game for starters..
If you look at full speed it appears that the defender wasn’t going for a tackle he was trying to put dr out, sorts lead with his forearm. Dylan made that comment in the post game press conference. That’s why he got up aggressivelyIt was embarrassing how he hopped up and threw a fuss. Not a penalty.
No other answer.Slid late, bad call
what do you mean you people? They are probably taking counseling to cure their white guilt as well
If its so obvious why do they have to use slow motion replay? Full speed indicates it was impossible for the defender. Husker fans would rightly be livid if we were called for the same play. Didnt matter, we had the first down anyway.
Raiola slid late but I also think it wasn’t so late that the defender could not avoid the collisionMy opinion is if people don’t like the rule they should petition to change it.
And? Whats he supposed to do, play tag? Is football a violent sport anymore?People seem to not realize #28 from BC was head hunting. It was a bang bang play. Was DR late on the slide? Sure but the issue on that play is #28 squaring up at full speed, torpedoing and going after DR.
It was a dick move. I know because I did it when I played strong safety in college. But I played in the late 80s and early 90s. Different world back in the day.
what do you mean you people?
I very much disagree. No way i could stop myself or change direction at that point. Watch in real speed. The game is so fast on the field.Raiola slid late but I also think it wasn’t so late that the defender could not avoid the collision
Loved the “fuss”. Was great to see some fire.Really? Does the rule state that when a defender already goes in motion for the tackle and THEN the QB slides - it’s a penalty. I doubt that. It as a bad call and Dylan shouldn’t have stood up and raised a fuss - he instigated the contact that pissed him off.
Nebraska has had PLENTY of bad calls against them this year. That was a bad call in Nebraska’s favor.
You could probably avoid lowering your shoulder for a hit thoughI very much disagree. No way i could stop myself or change direction at that point. Watch in real speed. The game is so fast on the field.
But why? . He was going for the hit and lowered it before dylan slid. Should he reach for his flags instead? This is football. Again Im not sure we”re appreciating how fast these things happen. You could probably avoid lowering your shoulder for a hit though
It's football. Why shouldn't the defender use his shoulder? Arm tackling is for the weak and poorly disciplined. You could probably avoid lowering your shoulder for a hit though
I am also not seeing it as a dirty play. IF the defender believes Raiola is staying on his feet and is a ball carrier, he dropped his pad level and went in to take his legs out, the same as 30 other tackles in the game where the defender didn't stick his arms out to wrap up the ball carrier. But why? . He was going for the hit and lowered it before dylan slid. Should he reach for his flags instead? This is football. Again Im not sure we”re appreciating how fast these things happen.
It certainly was not a good look for DR.It didn't look like a penalty to me. DR jumping up and getting in the defender's face as though he had just been mugged was pretty cringe worthy.
That is exactly right! He was going down to get DR. If he supposedly was already starting his tackle BEFORE DR started his slide, wouldn’t he have been more upright and maybe went over him? He saw DR going down and aimed accordingly. It is what it is, we every team has been on both sides of it. I disagree with the claim the defender was already committed and couldn’t do anything else, he went down to get Raiola.
He was trying to shoulder Dylan’s shin? The only way you’d be that low with your shoulder going in with no arms was with anticipation that the player was going down. The hit would make no sense otherwise. But why? . He was going for the hit and lowered it before dylan slid. Should he reach for his flags instead? This is football. Again Im not sure we”re appreciating how fast these things happen.
Lol so you’re against slow motion replay for verifying if a player was in bounds or not. Solid logic there 🤣🤣If it’s so obvious why do they have to use slow motion replay? Full speed indicates it was impossible for the defender. Husker fans would rightly be livid if we were called for the same play. Didnt matter, we had the first down anyway.
Another poster that needs to visit their local men’s clinic. Bunch of betas running around Nebraska .. embarrassingIt certainly was not a good look for DR.
This is the correct answer, haha!I'm good with no penalty as long as raiola made the first down and is not injured.
if he did'nt get the first down then it's probably best to throw the flag
Or, he went to take out his legs? That is exactly right! He was going down to get DR. If he supposedly was already starting his tackle BEFORE DR started his slide, wouldn’t he have been more upright and maybe went over him? He saw DR going down and aimed accordingly.
Not all situations are the same. In no way is that his "logic".Lol so you’re against slow motion replay for verifying if a player was in bounds or not. Solid logic there 🤣🤣
Okay... tough guy!Another poster that needs to visit their local men’s clinic. Bunch of betas running around Nebraska .. embarrassing
