Of all the games we have lost...

Ok deflect you're savior Rhule is a joke and filled his clown car with buddies.
Rhule is our guy for the next couple years. Like it or not. There are things Rhule needs to do better, but there are also things that Rhule excels at. I'm choosing to stay optimistic. The bottom line for me is that good people can always grow and do better. I think Frank Solich was doing just that when he hired a younger, energetic staff and went 9-3 (soon to be 10-3). I would rather stay with a guy and let him make improvements rather than start over and start yet another rebuild.

Ok we know one thing for sure he will win the off season.....bet he hangs a banner for those championships.

I can't really argue with you, I just don't know who else we should've hired.

Urban if he would have done it. No clue how hard we actually tried or how hireable he actually was. Deion clearly a better hire. And he was definitely hireable. But hey, Nebraska gonna Nebraska

I f'n hate "winning the off-season". I'm so sick of that crap. Gotta keep the football hype train on the tracks though. Keep those season ticket sales up. Gotta raise more money.

We agree on something. It's been a yearly beatdown, rhule doesn't give a shit.

Aside from press conferences, what would those things be?

It's nauseating the support this program gets only to put that product on the field. And it's unbelievable the AD has allowed it to continue through 3 coaching staffs over 10 years. This would never fly at a place like Ohio State, they have pride. Nebraska coaches and players just like to bleed the program for stuff and clout instead of having an ounce of self respect, or respect for the place who's providing you this opportunity.

Just because you don't like the guy, doesn't mean he doesn't give a sh*t. The guy does care. If he didn't care, why not just do a TV football gig and collect the $40 million from the Panthers buyout?

Team building, recruiting. Relationship building. Leadership and administration. He has experience coaching multiple position groups on both sides of the ball. These are all good traits for a CEO style head coach.

You forgot the most important trait hiring good subordinates....not your buddies and buddies kids.

I agree that if you take an important position you have to bring in the best people. Not ass kissers, or people who you literally say that you owe a favor to, or people who are incompetent for the position they are put in.

I'm hoping Rhule makes a few changes. We shall see.

This is one of the biggest loads of crap I've ever read on here. And that's saying something. Team building? Building a losing team? That's excelling to you? Recruiting? His recruiting is right on par with almost every coach we've ever had any given year. That's not excelling, that's meeting a standard. Relationship building? With who? His buddies and his buddies' kids? Has experience with multiple positions? Which ones is it that he excels at again? I can go on, but I'm sure it's a waste of time. You sound like you're writing his resume and using a thesaurus to fluff it up with a bunch subjective rhetorical "traits" because it doesn't have any real substance and would be about ¼ of a page long without it.

Ok maybe so.....at least he could apologize for the miserable, embarrassing loss
Nothing he says or does is going to make us feel better about this one. Bottom line for me still is that the snapper has to do his job. Our defense needed to stop Johnson. We missed at least 3 tackles on that TD. Raiola fumbled twice and lost the last one. Raiola missed multiple open receivers and Lloyd was 2 steps behind his guy on that one over throw. Gotta make plays. We had that one and IMO no play call during the game cost us the game. No matter how little someone likes Rhule, I don’t think there were any in game decisions by him that cost us this game. Players HAVE to execute and they didn’t. 😕. Still sick to my stomach.

All of that is correct....but someone chose who was going to play....

IGC is the one problem I had but yet Barney has made a couple of bone headed plays back there too. I have no doubt that Holgerson and White tried to put the best guys we had on the field. Just a gut punch.

Raiola needs to hold the ball with both hands, seniors like Neyor and Bullock need to make key plays when it matters, special teams unit needs to be average at worst in the B1G, not abysmal, Benhart was blocking decent most ofnthe night and wiffed the final play that lead to the fumble. We’re just embarrassing to watch, none more than not shaking hands at the coin toss.

Not shaking hands is a reflection on Rhule and the culture he is building. Embarrassing for the team to act in such a way.

Has nothing to do with liking. He was in my top 3 choices to replace Frost and I said as much the day Frost was fired. Before Rhule was even fired from Carolina.

Unfortunately, he has underperformed my expectations. By a lot. Other than being mostly good at press conferences, he hasn't "excelled" at any aspect of the job. He's been average to below average at literally every single thing.

The one other thing I might have given him was player retention. He seemed to keep a lot of guys from entering the portal which, at the time, seemed impressive. But even that is turning out to be a negative, because as it turns out, he should have sent a ton of their asses packing.
