4* Rivals #167 Adrian Martinez out of Fresno, California. Currently committed to Tennessee.

3* JUCO Terry Wilson out of Garden City CC. Terry was once committed to Nebraska, signed with Oregon then transferred after losing the starting spot to Herbert. Terry earned the Jayhawk league offensive POY honors this season.

So which one should be be more excited about?

I lean towards Wilson because he has college experience and could possibly help us right away in 2018 in this new offense.

I assume Wilson would be here in January if he signs with us?

Both, plus another not named yet. I lean towards Wilson as well, only from an experience side of things & nothing else.

thought martinez was next weekend.

Coach V got it changed to this weekend. Both recruits were scheduled to visit an SEC this weekend & both changed their plans for Nebraska.

Martinez. I have heard he is the real deal and perfect for Frost's offense. But let's get both!

What about the quarterback from Michigan that decomitted from UCF? Any word on whether we have offered him?

What have you heard?
When he first committed to Cal the west coast QB guys were saying his Jr season was incredible and he was one of the better duel threat QB's in years, then he got all sorts of other offers and ended up flipping to UT. Recently, I have heard the local guys say he fits SF offense perfect. Nothing wrong with getting both the JUCO and the HS kid, but I like Martinez for sure.

Thanks

Martinez missed his entire senior season due to a serious shoulder injury/surgery. Hopefully the rehab has gone well. I'd be surprised if he doesn't redshirt no matter where he goes. Wilson would have a great chance to start here next year. He knows the Oregon offense.

Even more reason to get both!

Going to be an interesting QB battle. I'm thinking there's a good chance that our starting QB is not currently on the roster.

And our starting QB could still be on the team. Some of you guys are not giving Gebbia any love here, same goes with OBrein. I’m not giving up on either even more so Gebbia. That young man can be a great one.

I am a huge fan of Gebbia too. Pretty common to have 4 scholarship QB's on the roster. How about a stable of: Gebbia, POB, Wilson and Martinez. Surely Coach Frost can get some good QB play out of that group.

Welcome to the fire old Riley players. You now have to compete for your spot and will make game days seem like cake.

it will be interesting to see if either POB or TG stick around through spring and see if they can prove to SF they can run his offense or transfer out at semester to get a chance to go through spring ball at a new school. If no QB signs early, that probably increases the chances that at least one of TG or POB sticks through spring to give it a shot. Would be an interesting spring if all 3 QBs transfer out or don't go through spring ball here and no new QBs enroll in January.

No reason to leave now. I bet they stay through the Spring.

Slooooooooow your roll, boys. Let me throw a few names your way:

Johnny Stanton
Zach Darlington
Cody Green
Harrison Beck
Beau Davis
Curt Dukes
Bobby Newcombe
Frankie London

At one time or another, I remember being told that each was, and I quote, "the real deal" by the casual fan.

In fact, isn't this the same board that penciled Tanner Lee into the 1st round this coming April because Archie Manning likes his throwing motion or whatever?

I'm excited that NU is in on highly-rated, dual-threat guys. It's the right thing for the staff to be doing. It is absolutely not a guarantee that any of them starts a single game, let alone goes on to great things.

As I have said, the smartest thing for current NU QBs to do is work hard and make any new kid prove it. Plenty of bigtime QB recruits have gone on to do absolutely nothing in college. 4 years of experience taking snaps against D1 athletes matters. If it didn't, you'd start a bunch of freshmen every year.

Riley showed up in 2015 and didn't get a JUCO QB. He also didn't get a high school QB that could come in right away and run his system.

Riley didn't get what he needed. Instead, he changed his system to fit the QB at the time (TA). Riley should have gone after the QBs needed for his system.

As of right now, it appears that Frost is not going to make the mistake of thinking the QB of the future is already on the team.

Why take the chance? Go get one or two QBs that you KNOW will fit your system and run it the way it needs to be ran.

By doing this, Frost is upping his chances at having a successful first couple years. Good for Frost.

BTW, Bobby Newcombe was a stud. But you are righ,t everyone sucks and there is no need to talk football or recruits on this board. Let's get back arguing over weather or not DPE was a bad teammate.

He was a stud. He was not, however, a starting QB for more than a handful of games.

As for the rest, I'd say you did a solid job ignoring the part where I said the staff is doing exactly what they should be.

People on here acting like we should start a GoFundMe to buy plane tickets out of Lincoln for TL, POB and TG because they might not win a 100 meter dash against Terry Wilson...

I like Terry Wilson's athleticism. I like the fact that he is 2 years older and arguably 2 years greater of a known commodity. But jilt me once, shame on you. Jilt me twice.....

If I am POB or TG, I am salivating at the SF Offense and what Frost was able to do with McKenzie Milton, who was a 5-11, 160-pound Dual-Threat QB when he came out of HS. I look at MIlton and say that I am at least as good as him with at least as good of skills.
