Not a fan of Fran at all …

Nope

Nebraska won the national title and michigan was handed a gift by the B1G dick sucking AP writers.
FIFY. One of the reasons I’ve always hated original big10 teams. Of course, it could’ve been settled on the field, but Michigan and the big10 were pvssies. Michigan and tOSU fans have earned some right to talk s?!t, but the fans of the other original big10 are almost universally dumbfcks.

BTW, to answer @hexumhawk , yes for me personally I refer to it as a shared title and it’s not semantics, it’s not my fault the bigten held out so long before moving to a conference championship game and it’s not my issue that the big10 didn’t allow Michigan to play Nebraska in the NC game. A blow out against Peyton led SEC Tennessee far out weighs barely escaping against Washington state.

Point is, it was all subjective to some degree before the playoff. Again, you call them playing a 10-1 WSU game close as barely escaping while making zero mention of Nebraska getting a fluke play to extend the Mizzu (unranked) game to overtime.

Didn’t Michigan barely beat your in unranked 7-5 Herky’s by a mere 4 points..

Also Mizzou ended up RANKED 23 in the final polls

Fluke or not they still made the play…Mizzou had a similar kicked ball earlier in the game that never gets mentioned..

Tennessee was ranked 3rd you fail to mention Washington St was ranked 8th.

Now what?

Point??? Lol….I’ll give you one thing you’re very typical of the Iowa fan base and replies like yours are one reason your fan base is ridiculed by other fan bases.

It’s hard to win one NC, harder to win 2 and winning back to back is extremely rare. Nebraska accomplished all of those in the 90s. No team has cruised to a Nc without a few balls bouncing their way during the regular season. Michigan’s win over wash st is not in the same league as Nebraska blowing out Tennessee.

Now, surprise me with a reasonable response…..

Fran has anger issues. They get worse with stress, like Bob Knight in that way.

Iowa's administration should step in and have a conversation with Fran about acceptable behavior standards, the way Texas did not with Chris Beard.

As a casual observer, I'm scared for those around Fran when he goes off like that. He needs to explain things, not interfere with them.

@hexumhawk where you at?? Surely you could come up with a reasonable response to my post. I looked at some of your posts on the Iowa message board, compared to 99% of your fellow Iowa fans you seem somewhat intelligent. I know that the Iowa-Nebraska football game is the most important game in the eyes of Iowa fans and that losing this season has taken a toll, but please don’t just run away, if you’re going to be here anyway let’s have a reasonable back and forth.

Sorry, don't check this board as often as you might think I do!

The original talk was about shared titles not counting (his thought towards Iowa in 04' and 09'). I brought up Nebraska's shared title in 97' and if that counted which is pretty relevant I would say.

Then someone brought up that Nebraska was way superior compared to Michigan that year because they beat a higher ranked Tennessee team in the bowl game compared to WSU. I personally agree that Tennessee was better but that person also didn't mention Nebraskas fortune to beat Mizzu that year.

Of course winning a NC in any respect is impressive as they won the games that were on their schedule. Again, my point was things before our new "playoff" system were much more subjective when the games weren't actually played on the field.

Nebraska beat all the top 3 teams on the field in 1971.
2) Oklahoma
3) Colorado
4) Alabama

I think Vegas put out a line for that game, if it has taken place. NU -7 or something like that.

I mean, in the end only people that love Michigan or hate NU would think that Michigan would win that game.

I really don't have a rooting interest. I think Nebraska was probably a little better that year but Michigan also had the best player in the country. I'm just glad that we get to see more of it on the field with the expansion after next year.

Did you know that Manning was completely left off of 110 ballots? That is how Woodson won the Heisman, it wasn’t because he was the best player..

Further more Suh in 2009 was more deserving than Woodson in 1997..

“More subjective” sure, but the CFP hasn’t been perfect and the CFP is subjective in the selection of teams and ranking order as well. Getting voted as NC by unanimous selection in the only two polls that matter, AP and coaches polls, is widely accepted as the gold standard and at least as good as the CFP. There were years where it was split between the polls and that’s too bad. Specifically speaking of 1997, there was nothing holding Nebraska back from playing Michigan, the bigten and Rose bowl could’ve and should’ve made it happen, but no one associated with Michigan, the bigten or the rose bowl wanted to see Michigan embarrassed by Nebraska. Thanks for stopping by.

Davis is right yea know… How do you call a technical and then take it back ? Right there something is wrong..

McCaffrey the biggest hot tempered winer in college basketball..
The T was on the Indy bench….but that’s just details

Oh, also, not sure everyone here understands the "Lil' Debbie" reference.

Hey, everybody: The sharpest Iowans in the world have started calling us "Debbie" or "Little Debbie," which is a derivation of "Nebby," which is pretty self-explanatory. ****ing poetic geniuses, amirite?
It's that vaunted Iowa intellect.
