Funny...Did you know Fran Drescher was hired as an uncredited "girl who can't dance" for Saturday Night Fever? She was supposed to ask Tony Manero, "Are you as good in bed as you are on the dance floor?" That was it. But she went off script and asked it again adding, "Connie wants an answer." So when the final cut was put together, Pacific Title or whoever does that kind of thing added a credit for Connie...Fran Drescher. She got noticed, got a bigger role in American Hot Wax costarring a young Jay Leno the next year and she was on her way.

I can say that anxiety was really tough for most of my adult life until about 10 years ago. I am 58 now. I still have periods where I struggle with it. Mostly dealing with things that were not a part of my daily routine. I had to face the anxiety head on until the things that were outside of my comfort zone became comfortable. There are still things that are outside my comfort zone but fewer as time goes on.
People don’t realize how anxiety effects people it can be disabling I appreciate you opening up
I wasn’t deriding his son. Fran no doubt is the source of at least some of his kid’s anxiety.

Fran's boy has stepped away from the team to deal with anxiety issues...timetable fluid...
Fran has two sons on the team the youngest is a stater on Ioway team and has anxiety and is stepping away for 2/5 games..
He is also a cancer survivor not sure if that has anything to do with his anxiety issues or not but it probably didn’t help.
I couldn’t play for his old man. Hope the kid gets some relief. It can be horribly crippling.

If any of us acted like he does we would be put in a padded cell. You can kind of see a coach losing it once in a while during the season but it seems like it’s every game with him. At what point does the conference step in and suspend a guy like that?

There is no doubt a fear that if you start tossing established coaches that the B1G is going to limit the number of games they assign you OR dump you entirely after the season. At some point the conference needs to have a “word” with the ADs and deliver an ultimatum. Either keep your anger and interactions civil or get suspended without pay.
Fran is a fiery coach who would go thru a brick wall for his players and the players would do the same for him. Personally as a former athlete myself that’s the type of coach all athletes want to play for.

Assistant coaches don’t engage officials. Coach Mac was just attempting to stop that improper interaction. Fran is one of the most respected coaches in basketball. He was trying to stop the Indiana assistant from tampering with the officials. I applaud him for that.
Back to OP’s post, I hope it was the absolute drubbing in Lincoln - and not a lifetime of dealing with daddy - that sent the mccaffrey kid into a mental tailspin
I like how Connor McDouchebag entered the fray near the end and started running his mouth off. Then AFTER an assistant coach hauls him back toward the Iowa bench, he breaks into the phony "Lemme at 'em! I wanna fight!" routine.

His players love him. At least that’s the story. The IU assistant was talking shit to the Iowa players and Fran took offense and stood up for the players.
