This might be the necessary change to bring sanity to the transfer portal. If a new contract is needed, it can address the transfer rules, longevity of the agreement, $$$ from NIL, and when players are eligible to transfer. It can also address the players sitting out of bowl games and leaving the team over red-shirt issues.
I'll wait for the lawyers and head coach to figure this out and tell us the implications for Nebraska. At this point I don't know if it helps or hurts Nebraska recruiting efforts.
