I read that the referee told the Saints that ball was tipped at the line is the reason for no penalty. How can a referee on the sidelines make that call? You throw the flag and then after the play sort it out. With no flag, no ability to appeal. Question, how can rules be changed to correct when no flag is even thrown?

I'm told that referees do not make mistakes, except for one time in a Nebraska/KSU game, but that is different somehow.

What is your weather like? It's snowing here
Just started snowing about half an hour ago and flakes getting bigger. Glaze of ice at dawn. Thought maybe would miss snow. Sky was getting lighter.......nope

Just make it one of the things you can challenge.

Coach still has to determine themselves if it they want to waste a challlenge

In fairness, every team has been screwed over by the refs. We’ve had it happen a couple of times in national championship games. Don’t recall anybody in New Orleans feeling sorry for us at that time. I don’t really feel sorry for them either. I also saw somebody tweeted photos of three facemask penalties by the Saints that the referees missed. It happens. I have no problem giving the coach a couple of challenges for missed calls, and getting to keep them if they are correct. And as fast as the game is played by those athletes, maybe they do need to use cameras to help out officials.
