Like I said, I'll take a Raiola at QB for the next 6 years. If you look at it, Dillon Gabriel is only 6'0" and 185 and he's as good as there is in college football right now, albeit, he has great wheels, too.
The reason I'm high on Dayton is simply intangibles, pedigree and aspirations. Nothing wrong with bringing in a true freshman in 4 years who already knows the playbook like the back of his hand.
It's not like the young Raiola won't have a relationship with some of the top high school kids in the country just like his older brother.
I seriously doubt you'll be involved in their decision to bring him in or not.
Anyone else notice how he kept his feet under him and finished the play for a TD?
In years past w our WRs, our WR would have surely gone down there and the play is over....
These guys are def a higher lvl than we have been used to. Kudos to the coaches for spotting and grabbing these guys.
See how Banks high pointed that ball on the TD catch? Seems simple cuz he made it look simple. But we have been lacking that as well from our WRs.
We even saw how badly Lloyd #19 I think earlier in the game mis timed his jump between two defenders and looked bad doing it..had he timed his jump even remotely correct he comes up w the ball easily...
For one series I'd like to see NU line up like this and really air it out:
Neyor Banks LT LG C RG RT Nelson Lloyd JB/RJ/J Bon (only 1 of course)

Now, you're talking about having some real weapons on the field. You have speed and size on both sides of the formation.
You could have either Nelson or Jacory/Rahmir/Bonner in motion either direction, as good as our middle OLine is you could run a Utah shovel pass to either Jacory/Rahmir/Bonner up the middle if your WR's can run the DB's off.
Can use any of those 3 guys that would be at WB as an additional blocker, obviously RJ and Bonner the 2 best choices.

We often don't know how to respond to a play such as that. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop. First hurdle is believing we have a QB who can make a competent throw. Then having a WR with the ability to not whiff every second attempt. Breaking a tackle for extra yardage, let alone a TD is just so foreign. Now it is like "was that all an anomaly" and "what if that never happens again"?
Neyor looks like he has a 10' wingspan. Any teams that played us last year and this year are going to be like GD, wth did they do to this team.

We have not had a QB throwing “highpointable” balls like that. Like Aaron Rodgers, DR is making every receiver look better just by giving them a chance. Neyor and Banks looked great with their opportunities, but we’ve had a lot of receivers through here that haven’t had the same level of opportunity. It’s a little bit of both and it’s a sexy combination.
Yep. A QB that can place the ball where it needs to be combined with a conspicuous lack of 5'8" receivers is going to make this offense fun to watch.

I remember way back when Barry Sanders was in his Heisman year, Ken C was having a pretty monster year himself, but really got no pub. He even outgained Barry S in the head to head game between NU and Okie Light.

Edit: these were the days where if u didn't live in NE..(I lived in CA) you only got to watch maybe 2-4 games on TV per year (at most)..and had to listen to the rest on the radio. KLIN? I think?
So scouring the next days sports box scores to see how NU players did vs other teams players was a rite of passage. lol
It's why most of us X Gen folks didn't mind paying 50 bucks for the PPV games when they were available or dropping at least 50 bucks at a local bar that carried the game on brews and food.

I've met some chicks who were loose hipped...
I was in the endzone down in College Station for that game. Great time. A&M fans bought us beers while we discussed our hatred for Texass after the game.
Purify is one of my all time favorite husker WR.

He was a WR type Nebraska didn’t trot out too often. The ending to that game was one of the highlights of the 2000s IMO.

Neyor will be my favorite if things go like I think they will. Purify and Rodgers are 2 of mine as well.
Definitely seemed to be real chemistry between Neyor and DR. I look for him to continue to put up big numbers

I think our big bodied receivers will do pretty well against Hunter. It’s our secondary that gives a bit of pause as to how they’ll do against him or Horn.
Mostly I just think we just have so many receivers this year. If you put Hunter on Neyor, that would mean Banks is going against their #2 corner. Fine by me. That big Stanford WR abused Hunter and CU last year. He had nearly 300 yards receiving and he's 6'2". Not that I want to make a living attacking Hunter, but it can be done.
People hate Fidone but he is also a huge target across the middle if we would actually use him that way.
Our front 7 needs to habitually hurry, harry, hit and dare I say even harangue Shedeur. Can't let him be comfortable in the pocket letting plays develop. Also our run game should be the focus on offense to eat up a lot of time. Slow methodical drives. Should be a fun game with an absolutely electric atmosphere!
I agree on Findone if he gets any YAC that is a bonus. But I don't think he should ever be a target behind the line of scrimmage. I hope he is utilized to just get to the sticks and be a check down target. He seems to have good hands. I just think his knees just have really hurt his movement.
