Next season: Purdy??

Keep Purdy. Lose the others.
Get 2 transfers. Get Kaelin in here.
If then we don’t look pretty decent on offense next year for Satterfield then shitcan his ass His offense sucks. It’s the same plays, terrible scheming in much of the running plays.
Basically no screen game, not a good attacker of the seam routes…. Poor timing of calls
This is the first year but if we have trouble next season Satt needs to be shitcanned.
Also, hire someone to manage the fvcking clock for gods sake

Which one of those games that HH played was as efficient as Purdy?

Was it the 12/28, the 6/11, the 8/17 or 12/24 game, didn't put them all in because they are all about the same, roughly 50% or under completion rates. And his only game he rushed for more yds was against the powerhouse Louisiana Tech.

But no, i get it, a healthy HH is clearly better.

Tonight’s loss was the best win of the season for you and many others

Big night. Go celebrate!

Lots and lots of back patting and superlative typing will take place this week.

You guys earned it!

All of our QB's suck. You guys arguing about it are starting to get tedious. It's just a bad look.
It’s beyond clear how many warts HH covered up to get us to 5 wins

This staff does nobody any favors, themselves included

Deion and Fickell radically changed their rosters in the off-season while Rhule stood pat or subtracted by addition.

0-2 vs them.

simms first start of the season was against Minnesota and he too lost. What’s your point
Real QBs like purdy can’t just come in and win their first start

That distinction is reserved for tight ends who haven’t played a down of competitive football in 3 years

Guys like purdy in their 4th year having started 3x before need to build up to it

Purdy played reasonably well. We killed two drives with failed gadget plays. We had a couple of drives- OT included - that were ruined with lousy plays on 1st down. Not really Purdy’s fault.

We handcuffed Purdy on the last drive after he made a play, picking up 22 yards on a scramble. I would have loved it had he been given the chance to cash that in.

HH had a couple of strong games this year, but Purdy’s performance tonight was arguably the best QB play we had all year.

Yes, the bar is low.

Satt seemed to call the game like the clock struck midnight about 8 minutes in

Perhaps nobody was more surprised than he at what had transpired

Guys, put this dude on ignore. His whole schtick is to troll Husker fans. I stupidly looked at his posts here to see him eat crow, not sure why I thought he would own it. The guy is a liar and a troll, pure and simple. This post is the biggest evidence of that. Now he’s gonna call me weak minded or something, because that is what he does. Yantzee said earlier in this thread, if you don’t see the loser, you are the loser, or something like that.

I see the loser. Now the loser is back on ignore.

Would it be too much to ask for someone to submit an objective, or at least non-emotional take on this subject? A lot of folks here seem to love to jump to conclusions based on limited data. I have a hard time believing that many of you are very successful gamblers based on your propensity to react emotionally, based on small sample sizes, and then very stubbornly stick to a losing position.

Sticking strictly to the subject of Chubba Purdy - he played well tonight. Honestly, I didn't think he had it in him. It is beyond ridiculous to shit on his performance tonight, as it was arguably the best overall performance for a Husker QB this season. That being said, let's not anoint the kid as the savior of the program, or even next year's starter. It was one game (really, one great quarter). Last year still happened, and it was not good.

It was something a handful of posters said was not possible. A handful of posters went out of their way to denigrate Purdy incessantly throughout the season. A handful of posters who adamantly and vehemently called him our worst QB BY FAR.

I would be nice to see some crow eaten here, but this is an anonymous message board. Silly me to get my hopes up. Chubba may not be our savior. But some people are straight up assholes for how they treated him all season.

It was. And we lost the game. Doesn't mean shit how good he played.

No the warts covered up were by the defense. HH was barely adequate. He has also gotten worse as teams began to have game film of him and could see how terrible he is as a passing QB. HH makes NU completely one-dimensional and when put into a passing situation it's a hold-your-breath moment not knowing who the pass will go to.
Wisconsin is also pretty good. They went half of the season without Mordecai (who is probably the best QB in the West) and Braelon Allen is possibly the best RB even if he was not 100%. Their defense is also among the top 3 with NU and Iowa. NU may have lost this game in OT but it wasn't their worst game (except maybe in terms of tackling).
I don't comprehend (other than in-state homerism) how anyone could see HH as having been good by being just marginally better than Sims (who is the all-time worst QB NU has ever started). We lost to Maryland and Michigan St because HH couldn't get it done. We lost to Colorado and Minnesota because of Sims. This is the very first game that we had a QB that actually looked competitive as a thrower and he did well running as well. For once the QB was not the reason for the loss. It was on the OL and surprisingly the defense that failed to make tackles multiple times in key situations.

There's plenty of times I've disagreed with him, but he's not a troll, or at least not one I'm bothered by. And you're the one who's the loser here. At least @king_kong_ doesn't feel the need to put someone on a public ignore list. Seriously, it's super lame and noone cares.

He was by far the best qb we’ve seen all year. Our coaches are just beyond retarded.
What QB that’s better that Purdy is honestly going to want to come to Neb? He’s the best and will be the only option.

If NU played Colorado and Minnesota right now they'd win. If Purdy started against Maryland that is also probably a win.
I honestly don’t think we would win any of those.

All year, we have said competent QB play and no turnovers (I’m not counting the last play) would put us over the top. We got BOTH yesterday.

Yet our team, yet again, found a way to lose the game. Losing is our identity right now, and one QB is not going to drastically change us next year. We need a significant purge of Frost era players in the offseason

Says the guy who BEGGED me repeatedly to put him on my ignore list. Can’t make this up.

So many predictable opinions aimed at me and the only kid who’s put up Ws.

Too bad these games aren’t 8 minutes long.

I would never put anyone on ignore

Fact is outside of those two big plays, which were delightful to see and I commended Chubba on in real-time, he was exactly who we knew he was

Check down charlie too skiddish to stand in the pocket and push the ball downfield when we needed it

He also ran out of bounds short of the sticks on a 4th quarter drive near midfield that led to a punt

The people running victory laps over last night’s loss aren’t finished. This week will be packed full of superlatives based on 2 plays in a game we once again snatched defeat from victory.

Maybe next week/year. Maybe maybe maybe, if if if

I said last week if purdy started I’d bet the farm on wisc. Winners win 😉

Chubby is going to have to have surgery after the season. How long will he be out? Is a full recovery certain?

This feels a lot like the Thompson scenario from last off-season.

I think we keep HH and Chubba and tell Sims to take a hike. With Kaelin coming in, that still leaves us needing at least one QB from the portal, probably two.

Omg look at you. Just coming around to take your victory lap at the expense of Huskernation.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hope you made some good $$$

1. Keep a healthy Purdy

2. Cut Sims

3. Move HH to H-Back / Emergency QB

4. Get another QB, portal or high school

EDIT - 5. Get Kong a restraining order so he stops doing this at Haarberg's window
