Next coach

I completely agree. Though I trust this as fact as it's related to some personal business things. That information alone doesn't make it "a signed deal has been made!!1" but it makes it pretty hard to continue to look the other way at this point.
Wait...you were serious?

No. Really? No.

Surely you can't be serious.

I'm serious. Keep in mind this isn't a "contract has been agreed upon" statement, and that's as far as I'll go. Who knows though... maybe it's too expensive in Lincoln and he'll change his mind Smokin

Next coach should be gaurunteed at least 7 years imo. And not a 7 year contract. 7 years no hot seat. People may not like to hear it, but this is quite the rebuilding job right now. We have severe talent deficits and no development due to discontinuity in coaching. The only thing that will get us going again is stability in the coaching Staff.

Well then just give riley and staff 4 more years.

I am pretty confident with what I have heard, but the numbers being reported as finalized are bs.

I don't believe I've read what you posted. Are you saying that you're pretty sure Frost is coming to Lincoln, but the salary being reported isn't what you've heard?

Yes. I just find it hard to believe that numbers or contracts being 'finalized' would be leaked out at this point.....or that there would be anything more that kind of agreements in principle. When you have some players that all the way back to last weekend say that they KNOW Riley is done and this is what they are hearing, I believe that. I do not want to post who those players are on here or what they have heard because it could kind of put the guy I know in a tough spot. I have no problem stating that it is players that seem to know that this is the change being made because well, hell....it was even reported on the broadcast of the game yesterday that players were asking the staff about Riley's status as HC. There have been other things I have heard on the other side of this that kind of point to this, also.

I guess the only thing I wonder is if they will just come out with some type of an announcement that Riley will not be back before Black Friday. The speculation just makes it even tougher for him to lead a team that knows he is not coming back but can't say anything, imo. Throw in the Diaco, Sip, SE mess on top of it and this has circus written all over it. I know that Riley is not a great football coach, but I really do feel bad for him.

As I said above, Riley is a great man that deserves respect. He just didn't get it done here. He as least changed the culture here and did get a much better recruiting network in place. I actually hope they do make some kind of announcement on MR's behalf.....and he gets a nice send off at our last home game on Black Friday. Hell, maybe it even takes some of the pressure off and they send this staff off with a win.

I suspect speculation will continue over the next couple of weeks anyway and it is going to be harder for the fans..... and most importantly the team to know what is bs and what is true. I think Bill Moos is a smart AD and made his original statement about not making any announcements until after the season simply because he feels that interims do more harm than good (in a lot of instances). Making it known that Riley won't be back, but will finish out the season, may not be a bad idea for all involved at this point.

I used to believe that - I don't anymore after watching the last several games. For example: Have you seen the arms on our OL? They look like a punter's arms compared to Wisc. or Iowa's! Our strength and conditioning is one of the weakest in the country at any level. Look how NIU pushed us around. There is nothing about this squad that is talented or committed to winning football.
I agree 100% I have suspected some of our issues especially with all the injuries is with poor strength and conditioning. That is one thing the next coach really needs to focus on.

I think most would be just happy for a well coached team that plays hard. This we have no talent thing is the last attempt to justify why Riley failed.

No we are not a team stocked with talent but really they are so poorly coached we have no idea what our talent level is. According to posters on here the Riley classes should have improved it
We have talent most of the scholarship players are 3 and 4 star kids, we just have not coached up the talent. If we do not have any talent then all of the recruiting services got it wrong and I find that hard to believe. It is one thing to miss on a player here and there but you cannot tell me that we missed on every o-lineman, also before Tre Bryant got hurt he was the leading rusher in the Big Ten, and we have some of the better receivers in the Big Ten. We are simply consistently inconsistent we it comes to the basic fundamentals of football like blocking and tackling.

Hopefully Zach comes back with Coach Frost.

"Zach Duval serves as the director of sports performance for football with the Knights since spring 2016. He oversees the entire sports performance department at UCF.

He spent the 2014-15 seasons at the University of Wyoming as the director of sports performance.

While at Wyoming, he was named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, which is the highest honor given in the profession.

UCF head coach Scott Frost was a star quarterback for Nebraska at the same time Duval was moving up the ranks for the Cornhuskers. Duval started his coaching career as a student assistant in the NU "Husker Power" strength training program in 1994, took over as a graduate assistant from 1995-96 and was an assistant football strength coach from 1997-02. Frost's senior year was in 1997 when he was a Davey O'Brien Award semifinalist which is handed out to the nation's best signal-caller.

After his first stint in Lincoln, Duval founded the Xplosive Edge performance center in 2002, which developed specialized computer software to be utilized by strength-training professionals. He also served as co-owner and manager of The Performance and Wellness Institute in Colorado. In 2008, Duval returned to the college ranks as a strength coach at Nebraska.

Duval stayed in the state of Nebraska in 2009 when he was the director of athletics performance at Creighton, then traveled to Buffalo to work as the Bulls' director of sports performance from 2010-13.

During his time with college football programs, Duval helped Nebraska win three national championships (1994, 1995 and 1997). At Buffalo, he assisted with All-America linebacker Khalil Mack who would be selected No. 5 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.

Duval holds a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Nebraska in 1998. He and his wife, Sarah, have five children, Sonja, Bronx, Jaggar, Capri and Zolie."

I thought you were talking about having some knowledge of who the new coach is going to be. If you do but can't share, I understand.

I know that it's pretty well known that there are some players on defense that didn't buy into Diaco's scheme. That comes from one of the players on defense.

@Hoosker Du .....they feel pretty strongly that, more likely than not, Frost is the next HC. Not sure where they are getting that from and I can't say what players. I can say that those players are on the offensive side.

I have no official sources but have heard through the grapevine that it is going to be Frost, but nothing is being announced because Frost insisted that he is able to stay at UCF until after their bowl game.

Did not hear a timeline. Just a lot of confidence that it is Frost.
