In case Rhule needs to demote or fire Butler when he flames out.Snow as assistant head coach?? Wtf?
Not a single hire other than Simpson is a good one in my opinion. Is Phil Snow here to give our new DC on the job training?
These hires don’t seem like win now, blue blood program type moves to me.
Hope to be wrong and pleasantly surprised next year.
We just stormed the field for 6-6.Is Phil Snow here to give our new DC on the job training?
These hires don’t seem like win now, blue blood program type moves to me.

Obviously he assists the head coach. LOLWhat does an assistant head coach do?
I don't mind Snow as he has been pretty solid. Not a single hire other than Simpson is a good one in my opinion.
Obviously he assists the head coach. LOL
If he can call timeouts and/or challenge plays he’ll be a huge upgradeObviously he assists the head coach. LOL
I assume that means we still need a full time Secondary coach.
Hence the LOL. Think George Costanza as the assistant to the assistant Traveling Secretary.
If the first two are permanent hires, maybe Rhule doesn’t realize hiring assistants who can't bring portal players with them is stoopid.
Does he think he has that long?In case Rhule needs to demote or fire Butler when he flames out.
He'd have only next season to prove something if I or any competent person were in charge of the programDoes he think he has that long?
As the AHC, he can also assist with the defense as he has that freedom.I don't mind Snow as he has been pretty solid.
He was an awesome DC when his defense shut out the two-time defending national champion Huskers nearly 30 years ago. That will give us some ancient history to discuss when we are losing to teams who are hiring current successful coaches who can bring along great portal players.I don't mind Snow as he has been pretty solid.
If he can call timeouts and/or challenge plays he’ll be a huge upgrade
Yeah, that's the timeline I'm betting on.He'd have only next season to prove something if I or any competent person were in charge of the program
I laughed out loud at your response actually. It's exactly what I would have said.Hence the LOL. Think George Costanza as the assistant to the assistant Traveling Secretary.
Its a non-position,
So painful how true that is.If he can call timeouts and/or challenge plays he’ll be a huge upgrade
^^^This^^^These hires make no sense to me. Not a fan of promoting Butler at all, this is why Nebraska will never get over the hump, we either have a decent offense and crappy defense or a decent defense and a crappy offense… we finally have a competent OC and then we fall glad on our faces with the DC hire… I was already concerned about how our D would look next year, but now this has me up in flames… buckle up for yet another rough year boys it’ll be a long one.
Big boy programs make big boy moves, and I’m sorry but this move was just a cop out move.
And Satterfield too. Nothing to do but laugh at the awkwardness and timidity of it.I'm still baffled why the hell Foley is still employed.
Do you think a top DB coach from the NFL needs otj training for a college defense? Is Phil Snow here to give our new DC on the job training?
These hires don’t seem like win now, blue blood program type moves to me.
Hope to be wrong and pleasantly surprised next year.
White is a rising star. Had 4 years as a DC at 2 stops before NU. 4 years as a D1 DC in less than 20 years of coaching. Butler has been coaching since 1995 and has 1 year as DC. 11 years ago. This just in ……….Nebraska is making its first bowl appearance in 8 seasons. It’s been a beat since they were considered a big boy program.
The DC that everyone is fawning over at FSU was the DC at Syracuse and his defenses were ok but nothing about that hire screamed Big boy program hire.
why else would Phil Snow be on staff?Do you think a top DB coach from the NFL needs otj training for a college defense?
Do you think just because you can't think of another answer there isn't one?why else would Phil Snow be on staff?
And if we hired Cignetti and he brought a bunch of James Madison players you wouldn't have like it at the time. These hires make no sense to me.

We will see.White is a rising star. Had 4 years as a DC at 2 stops before NU. 4 years as a D1 DC in less than 20 years of coaching. Butler has been coaching since 1995 and has 1 year as DC. 11 years ago.
Tuco I 100 percent get where you’re coming from… the point to any of this is we will continue to not be considered a big boy program when we continue to make these kind of hires… NU has big boy money to make big boy moves… we need to be better when making these kind of hiresThis just in ……….Nebraska is making its first bowl appearance in 8 seasons. It’s been a beat since they were considered a big boy program.
The DC that everyone is fawning over at FSU was the DC at Syracuse and his defenses were ok but nothing about that hire screamed Big boy program hire.
That’s why I asked the board of fans. Because I realize that I can’t think of everything, and was wondering if their was another viewpoint / opinion.Do you think just because you can't think of another answer there isn't one?
