Nebraska vs NW basketball

Jesus H. Do we have something against shooters? Just a guy that can knock down a damn open 3.
Actually yes, it's infuriating how many of these guys can't hit a damn jump shot. And Miles now leading a meltdown. We will lose by 9 or 10, I saw the line before the game, and the Huskers always make sure to not cover no matter win or lose.

Roby has open 18 ft and passes them up. McVeigh and Watson and Webster only ones that don't pass them up.

34% from the field...not Tim Miles fault even though we are a poor shooting team every...single...year under him. So that puts our record at Tim MiLLLLes 9-0 and Husker players 0-11 on the year.

Nice knowing you Jeriah Horne, by commiting to Nebraska, you are made a scapegoat because of the same things everyone else does. Except you commit the cardinal sin of being able to score the basketball with a jump shot.

You aren't going to get a good shooting Percentage doing dribble drives into traffic. Notice towards the end how NW moved the ball to get a good shot and we drive through 3 people and jack something stupid up. A.trappimg D is OK at times but wow we are terrible at it. How many rebounds do we give to wide open .Guys with no body on them? I rarely do this, but how does Miles survive this mess?

It's time to move on from this version of the Miles Nebrasketball abortion. I loved the guy's personality, but... just not getting it done. I question from what I see on the court if this team even holds real practices.

Ok. Fire him then. That's all you whiners want to do. As if that will fix anything.
Where did I say I want him fired?
I want him to simply be fair to every player he brings in, and stop the act. He can coach, but there seems to always be a player to point to as a "problem". Drop the self-destructive bullshit and play as a full team, together.

I would say realist...not whiners. Don't confuse that with those that have their(you) head stuck up MiLLLes backside. I'm all for keeping Miles another year...I would think 99% of this fanbase would agree next year is do or die. Assuming he makes it last this year.

I hope NW gets to the dance and wins a game, so Nebraska can be the only P5 team without a win in the dance. If Nebraska is going to continue to suck, we might as well be unique.

thats what happens when you have one or two guys who can make a shot

Cubbies!

Isn't chicolboy one of the biggest db's toward the football staff? You know them, the guys that have been here 2 WHOLE YEARS!!! Lol

The way I see it is we don't have any "good" big bodies with Morrow out. No one inside has to be double teamed so they can stay out on our guards which leaves us with very few wide open looks. Our guards are very good but our inside game on both sides of the floor is baaaad!!

I'm ok with one more year for Miles.

I'd prefer doing whatever needs to be done in order to get Hoiberg here after he gets fired by the Bulls.

It's time to make the NCAAs and win games.

I'm hoping that you have him confused with someone else. I don't remember him doing anything remotely like that.

Shoot, well I was way wrong. Couldnt watch much of the second half besides here and there. Looks like NW stopped sucking and Nebraska didnt.

Probably am confused. Happens easily nowadays. Just seems like I remember him throwing barbs at them

Agree with this. In the Rutgers game Roby had a bad stretch in which he committed a couple of really stupid turnovers, so he lands on the bench for the rest of the game. Meanwhile other guys can look like they've never played organized basketball prior to that day, and still get 25 minutes.

If you are going to play freshmen, you have to be willing to let them have their "freshman" mistakes. You can't have them looking over their shoulder wondering if they are going to get benched if they take a bad shot or make a bad pass.

The fact that Miles did not get an extension last year, makes me wonder if Eichorst is very high on him. Miles will only have 3 years left on the contract after this season, which means that Eichorst either has to extend his contract or fire him. Most coaches have 5 years on their contract at all times.

That said, I'm really not sure who we could get that's any better, as this job has been a graveyard for promising coaching careers. And Eichorst's hires haven't exactly been lighting it up so far. I know Hoiberg was born in Lincoln but there is a 0% chance he will ever coach here. If the Bulls fire him he will get another NBA job or a big-name college program will swoop him up. Archie Miller would be good but I think he's holding out for a bigger-name job. Gregg Marshall has turned down bigger names. Eric Musselman at Nevada is the guy I would go after, has turned that program around quickly and has a lot of NBA coaching experience.

Kevin Keatts...if you want a name.

Miles does was a lot of coaches do...they get scared to play their true freshmen. They would rather lose with the guys they trust and I can understand that but it is something you need to examine.

If JH and IR were getting a ton more minutes this season would the record be any worse? Probably not.

Also, why Miles won't press more is beyond me.

Well if Eichorst hires the next Men's Basketball coach as good as the new Women's coach, we just as mise well hold on too him but crying out loud.

Wow, I had no idea how bad our women's team was doing. 6-16. Just awful..
