"Nebraska is screwed" - cheating Michigan football employee

Credit to @headcard in the "Bielema vs. Harbaugh" thread. Figured this deserved its own thread.

The Huskers were cheated by the B1G darling. The Huskers were cheated by the mythical "Michigan Man."
I have felt over the last 20 years that other schools knew what plays we were going to run... especially on defense. That 62-36 Colorado game in 2001 comes to mind, as well as the 70-31 Big 10 Championship against Wisconsin.

Trust me I know we just got curb stomped in both of those games, but I always wonder how those two teams were able to run basically one type of running play with that amount of success against us. Jet sweep will always give me nightmares as we all sat on our couches and knew what was coming next, and could not stop it.

Or

Chris Brown and Bobby Purify rushing up the gut so freely against an undefeated Nebraska team. It just seemed odd and uncharacteristic, because we played other teams that year (Oklahoma), and it was not even similar. Colorado may have been decent that year, but no way were they that much better than Nebraska without knowing something. I don't know if sign stealing is illegal or new, but I know those two teams knew exactly when to run certain plays and made for two really hard games to watch.

Let me throw in a couple of screen shots of the two 2012 NU/Wisconsin games

You can not tell me with a straight face Bret Beilema did not have the scoop on what to run and when. These are the same two teams and Wisconsin may have gotten better throughout the year, but not this much better. They even had a back up QB in that game vs the first one. There had to be sign stealing or inside knowledge to get that drastic of output increase from the same three RB's

We were screwed anyways. We didn't come close to matching up.

Will Compton talks about this game from time to time.

He says we had 1 single defense installed for jet motion. One.

Fatass Bret saw that we didn’t adjust and exploited it

If I'm a great fighter (not the case) with 100lbs of muscle on you, I don't need to bring brass knuckles to ensure that you lose. Garbage program. Fat Bert's right on this one.

I'm not saying that they were right to do so or even classy. I'm saying that it didn't make a difference.

Also, Steinkuhler was a stud for our DL that year and was the key to hold it all together. But he got injured late in the year so then we were screwed after that

So losing Steinkuhler was the difference of

41 Carries for 56 yards

To

50 Carries for 539 yards

Not sure I believe losing one football player would cause that drastic of a difference. What @king_kong_ said I can see, but still they scored on their 1st three drives if I remember correctly. How'd a coach pick up on that like Will Compton said so early. They had to have some sort of knowledge of what was going to go down prior to the start of the game.

They made Nebraska's safeties tackle, and Nebraska's safeties were truly awful that year. Stafford had the worst game of any Nebraska starter I've ever seen all of my years watching Nebraska football.

- Santino Panico... pretty sure he was the first player in Nebraska history to tie his name to the history books for not doing anything for the special teams return game.

- Beau Davis - Back up QB for the 70-10 debacle. Went 1-8 with 4 INT's

They did hire fire their OL coach. Unlike Nebraska their team improved. They were also a little unfortunate. They lost by 3 in OT to tOSU who was undefeated. Basically, they lost all their games by 7 points or less. Nebraska, I think walked in thinking they were going to win easily but instead got stomped.

just that one single defense

bad hill to die on. we were soft & outcoached that year, plain and simple.

Michigan would've kicked our ass whether they had signals or not.

unfortunately, i'm a hater and thus wish for them to be punished to the fullest extent possible, especially if that means vacating their natty win.
