One of the more intriguing players that Nebraska hosted for the Michigan game was 2026 five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.

The Missouri native was glad he got to come to Lincoln and see what coach Matt Rhule is building in Lincoln.

“It was a pretty fun visit,” Cantwell said. “Even though the score didn’t go the way they wanted, I got to keep building my relationship with all of the coaches and see what they’re building there.”

I spotted Cantwell spending a lot of time with staffer Keith Williams and fellow offensive line recruit Andrew Babaloa. The 2026 prospect also watched offensive line coach Donovan Raiola closely and says his relationship is building with him.

“It was good seeing them again,” Cantwell said. “I really like talking ball with Coach Raiola and his assistants, and talking to Coach Rhule was pretty good as well.”

Being a top 10 player in the nation for his class, Cantwell has a ton of options on the table. He’s got over 20 scholarship offers right now including Alabama, Georgia and Florida State. He doesn’t think he’ll make it back to Lincoln this year because he’s got a lot more places to see in person. Alabama and Georgia are on the list for this season.

But Cantwell wants to make it back to Lincoln next season. This will be an interesting recruitment to follow. Cantwell’s mom is from Crete, Nebraska, so he’s got lots of family ties to the Huskers. Both his parents are former Olympians.
