Case in point of what a simpleton I'm dealing with. We both know Minnesota beat Northwestern. I was Swyping on my phone, and it sometimes puts down different words than what I type. At any rate, I thought I typed that Minnesota beat Northwestern, and it ended up saying differently, as compared to you knowingly writing something and thinking it makes sense, when in fact it is little more than gibberish.

Oh my goodness.

Minnesota would run it down Baylor's throat..I don't think people have watched Baylor play.

So when you Swype on your phone and mean to type "beat", it changes it to lost to?

I was born at night, but it wasnt last night.

I don't know what happened in this case (probably just thinking about something else when I was posting) and posted "lost to" instead of "beat," but I have numerous occasions where Swype changes "can" to "can't" or "do" to "don't," or "does" to "doesn't." Or will change the word I had intended to use to something completely different. It drives me crazy. Anyway, I watched much of the Minnesota-Northwestern game, and am not impressed by either team.

Someone should probably share with you that quality always wins out over quantity, so no matter how many emoticons you click on, the gibberish you write is what people remember. And when your sentences are all over the place, people couldn't care less about emoticons. But if you're trying to impress your BFF, you'll score huge points.

Ok.

Does to doesn't
Can to cant
Beat to lost to

In my Sesame Street watching days they had a song about guess which one doesn't belong here.

You've got me. Despite the fact I watched much of the Minnesota - Northwestern game, and know the outcome, I was trying to sneak one past you guys and make Minnesota look that much more pathetic by saying they lost. Damn, I thought I could pull it off.

Good Lord, did you all have the same parents? Someone wrote down something other than what he meant to write down, because this BS back and forth has bored me to tears, and I wasn't paying attention.

You are right on the heels of GBR for taking the meaningless and focusing far too much on it. It's like a form of autism, and he does it all the time. It's like you're Ponce De Leon and walked right past the Fountain of Youth because you were expecting it to be a different color.

You're 6 days late so I'll remind you what I said last week in this very thread; "Their [insert Baylor] quality win is over current #13 Oklahoma State; who was 2-1 and unranked at the time of their game against Baylor.";

You prefer computer polls, cool with me. I presented 5 of them; all 5 were an integral part of the BCS, so you decided to mock a few of the polls. On top of that, as the immature board dunce you are, you also struggled to open a link then claimed a conspiracy. No edit in the post, the links worked just fine for multiple posters. It's okay, we know you wear the dunce hat. Proudly.

The best part is, you champion Sagarin, without even realizing Sagarin supports my initial statement. Wear the dunce hat proudly, you've deserved it.

You've spent the better part of this thread arguing the merits of two middle of the road teams and you want to call my posts out for meaningless? Please.

It is imminently apparent that Du has resorted to trolling now, and he's seeing how far along he can go and how many posters he might bring along, since he doesn't have a leg to stand on...

You don't base your entire argument on computer rankings, and then disavow computer rankings when they prove you wrong...

Du: "Baylor is better. Look at ESPN power ranking (or whatever it was he was touting)."

GBR: "Look at all of these computer polls that say Minnesota is better."

Du: "Oh, well, I watched the game. Screw all the computer rankings. I know better."

timnsun: "Du is a troll."

Let's put this one to bed.

I think if you take a look at who has continued this "non-sense" you would see who it is. And I know I should have bailed out on this thread a long time ago, because GBR will never ever allow someone to simply disagree with him. He does this every time someone disagrees with him. He hounds them non-stop on a topic that
that isn't black and white, and could have a variety of opinions.

When this thread started, there weren't polls that supported Minnesota being a better team than Baylor. I guess he figured if he kept this ridiculous thread going long enough, Baylor might start losing more games and he could 'win' the exchange in his mind.

Like I said, I only have myself to blame for allowing myself to get caught up in such a monumental waste of time. Based on the polls, I was correct on which team was ranked higher when this exchange started. Baylor has fallen back due to losses, so GBR, like the Neanderthal that he is, felt like he could catch up in the argument. Throw in some baiting on my part, because I know GBR takes this internet stuff very seriously, and he becomes a stray that you make the mistake of feeding. He just won't go away.

But, like the other thread, where I finally wised up and realized the only way to get rid of him is to wave the white flag on his stupidity, I'll have to do it again. It's the only way you can get rid of him.

GBR...denser than a 2-day post-Pepto bowel movement.

If you're going to comment, at least pay attention and try to make some sense.

The FPI rankings and the Sagarin ratings are computer rankings or partially computer rankings, and they both have Baylor ahead of Minnesota. Even after Baylor's recent losses.

The first two polls that GBR posted were the Sagarin and Massey, I believe. The Sagarin had Baylor ahead and the Massey link would not come up. I clicked on it numerous times...and nothing. No conspiracies, just no poll would come up. At that point I just started laughing, because he had provided a poll that didn't support his opinion and a link that wouldn't come up. Why it wouldn't come up, I have no idea, but I tried at least 15 times. Nothing.

I spent the entire day at hospitals with a couple of product trials, so I still haven't read the other links. I will do so when I have some time. But it doesn't change the fact that when this thread started, Baylor was ranked ahead of Minnesota in a number of polls, which means it would probably come down to what polls you trusted more. Yes, I trust simulation and computer polls more than than those based on opinion.

True. I should have realized that GBR will argue a point ad nauseam when there is no point to be argued. I've been through this same garbage with him before, and said "that's cool, that's your opinion," and yet the dope ropes you in, and you waste 2 weeks on a ridiculous topic that has no right or wrong answer. Never again.

My point is that you were addressing a topic that didn't require addressing. It's fairly apparent that I wrote down "lost to" instead "beat" by mistake. I'm pretty sure I was thinking about us beating Minnesota when I wrote it.

@Hoosker Du , don't ever post anything like that again or you will get a long vacation. Completely unacceptable.

So....you're saying there's no difference in two teams that are ranked 3 spots apart?

Outside of the top 20-ish, possilby even top 12-ish, no I don't think there's a difference. Especially this late in the season. They're both 40 plus in many different [computer] polls, but not human where Minnesota is receiving votes and Baylor isn't.

You prefer computer generated, 5 in my favor to your 1. Actually, Sagarin can go to both sides. So it's either 4-1, or 5-2, both in my favor. Regardless, you don't have a leg to stand on. All are well known polls, not pulled out of thin air like you think. To be blunt, it shows how little you know about the subject by claiming the ones I posted are garbage.

2 human polls to your none.

6 > 1. 7 > 2. You choose, and lose either way.

@Hoosker Du , don't ever post anything like that again or you will get a long vacation. Completely unacceptable.

Whatever it was, he'll blame his phone, that damn "Swype".
