Here in Lincoln. Please keep an eye out for a bunch of older Dewalt cordless tools (was lending these put to a younger kid until he could get on his feet), Milwaukee Fuel tools and batteries, Milwaukee big corded rotary sds hammer drill, smaller corded dewalt sds drill, and a bunch of other electrical knockout sets and specialty items. They also got a bunch of 350 MCM copper.
The officer and scrap yard do not seem interested in catching whoever did this. Still gonna hold out hope it starts showinh up online.
I am well over 5 grand down and still finding stuff missing. Oh well, maybe I can get back to what I had after another decade of getting stuff.

When I worked retail in North Platte, the police actually came out to us and asked if we were missing certain power tools because they had caught a thief and found a bunch of power tools at the residence. Turned out many things were from our store.

One lady, her daughter, and grand daughter stole 5 TVs back in 2005. When they searched her place, they found 3 Lincoln MIG welders ($429 each) and a couple other expensive items.

One guy worked on a construction crew and stole from us while working overnight. After watching video, we found that he was stealing tools every night ($79 hammers and power tools). The other guys on the crew were suspicious because he always had nice tools, expensive nice tools.

The owner figured out that his worker must have been stealing for quite awhile from all of their customers because he had received phone calls asking if they had accidentally taken some of the customer's tools... turns out his worker stole them. Easy to remember that thief's name... Jason Alexander.

We found that many power tools and knives that were stolen were being sold on Craig's List. I would watch that website very carefully 4.6.3... over the next 3 to 6 months.
Not a good thing. I hate thieves too.

I know I deserve it because I have White privilige and such, and they need it more because I am a dirtbag electrician.... but I am well over 5 grand down and still finding stuff missing. Oh well, maybe I can get back to what I had after another decade of getting stuff.
What specific dewalt tools?

Alot of older 18v nicad crap. Impact drill, hammer drill, sawzall, combo drill driver, 3 chargers and 8 batteries (what I was loaning out to the rookie) and all the same stuff in 20v lithium, with only 3 batteries, 1 charger, and an led light. Milwaukee 18v lithium hammer drill, led light, 2 chargers, and three 5.0 ah batteries. Batteries were about a month old.

It's in a different town already. Rings go through stay a night or two and move on. Sucks big time. Been there. Insurance does no good either

Sorry to hear that, man. F'ing thieves are just a drain on society.

So anyway..... as of right now I am still adding random things. Easily over 6 grand now. Joke away.

Definitely check Craig's List, LetGo and other apps. Check their location and see if it rings any bells
Have been trying. Wish it would just be done. But every few minutes I remember something else I had in those 2 job boxes. Awesome!

any 'warm fuzzies' you have for criminals fade quickly when you are victimized by them.

had my car broken into ~4 yrs ago. still pissed.

oh sorry to hear that, hope you get your stuff back. sounds like a lot of stuff which might be good as far as something turning up.

I wonder if they sell ripped off stuff on creigs list?

This happened to me . DeWalt drill , Makita drill , batteries, chargers, and even the friggin drill bits. They took all my cordless but left the corded drill . Around 2 weeks later the drills showed up at the closest pawn shop. If you are an electrician the copper that was taken was probably number 6 or 8 and that is not cheap either. Sorry to hear that this happened to you.

They took alot. My meter, about 300 bucks of hole-saw stuff, extentions, hand tools, taps, carbide sets. Dickholes!

Twice in the last 3 years i have had my job trailers broke into and wiped out. (In lincoln) $15,000 each time. Have not got 1 tool back that was stolen. F'n pieces of s#*t!!

Im sure you checked into this so I know im being captain obvious here, but are you sure the rookie wasnt in on it?

It's sucks I'm surprised the scrap yard didn't really care, when I took some brass to the one in north lincoln I
Had to provide driver license. You should live in a rural area where you can have a building site but the closest neighbor is 3 miles away easy pickings for thieves we have to lock everything tractor and combine cabs some monitors cost six grand or more, diesel is another easy grab pop the lock easy 200 galon gone.
Can you install trail cameras so they won't be seen the state patrol said they will use pictures for evidence.

Really hate to hear about garbage like this. When I was DJing I occasionally had music lifted, but never had to deal with losing equipment.

All of my trail cams are in the field right now taking pictures of the next Bambi I will eat. The scrap yards showed no interest in keeping an eye out for that wire.
