Most valuable college athletic programs. NU 8th

Honestly, who knows on any of this stuff? We naturally like to believe reports that’s make us look relevant. I linked a few different Google searches below and some don’t even list Nebraska in the top 20, so I imagine we would argue till we Red in the face that those articles are fake news or that valuable is different than profitable is different than richest program.

As you and others have mentioned in earlier posts, let’s just get half assed respectable on the field, then we don’t need to worry about how much money the program brings in. It’ll all take care of itself.

All these links your showing are 2 to 4 years old too..

See?

it's about the jimmy's and joe's more than anything. all p4 schools will be spending $20+ million for pay2play going forward. it's instructive too that bama, lsu, texas, and others of that ilk are now just solid programs as buying talent has become legal across the game. the b10 and sec will continue as the strongest because of tradition, not money. money matters but only to a certain threshold and that's likely been passed.

Because cannibals ate my Uncle Boosey. 😠

If we didn’t suck so bad in the Big Ten I’m certain we would like it more. But it’s been painful to look at Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois etc and see that they suck as well but we can’t beat them very often.

This is has been the main issue. Nebraska’s very first game in the B1G was against Wisconsin and it was a humiliating loss. That set the tone for the entire B1G experience and its been that way ever since.

It’s not what the B1G wanted either.

Nebraska was brought in for its brand and to help make the B1G more competitive. It hasn’t done anything but lose consistently in football, which is the sole reason it was brought into the conference.

Since then, the B1G has only gotten stronger while NU has gotten worse.

I’m sure the university likes the money, but it hasn’t been a good fit. For either side.

We started sucking when Eichorst fired Pelini.
Pelini was 67-27 here with a division champ.

I’ve always maintained that the change in conferences derailed Bo’s career…his program was built for big 12 competition he was dang good at slowing down the opposing offenses. Switched to big 10 and it was all out of system. Carl’s departure also proved to be a huge loss.

And I would agree with the kind of defense he ran and playing in a conference that spread you out it took him a while to get B1G personal…

Wholeheartedly agree with this post. Pelini had the Big 12 offenses figured out. I'm not saying it was the right or wrong move to let him go, but who knows if Martinez didn't get hurt, the a&m game didn't go down like it did and of course one second being added against Texass what would've happened.

Too many what ifs..

Probably better to move on and hope we can finally pull it together and win some games

We haven't won but we absolutely held up our end of the bargain financially. They scheduled us against all the good teams and got big ratings, no matter how bad we were. I think we are still the 4th or 5th most watched team in the Big 10 out of 18?

Bo couldn't handle the fish bowl media and fans in Lincoln. He hated recruiting as well. He never would survive in this new portal and NIL world.

We have a coach now that likes those things and they are more vital than other. Have to get that $ to flow into NIL. Good gosh think about if we make the playoffs how much more donations might come in.

I've always maintained it was a big part of what derailed Nebraska...Bo just happened to be the coach at the time. That change in style of play, culture and recruiting landscape was too big to get out from under. Turning the titanic

Plus he failed when going back to DC at a big boy program. The game passed him by. If only he would of had TMart with that Suh defense he may have done something really special
