Rhule has said many times in the last 2 seasons his game plan was to get out to a lead and lean on the defense and run the ball to run out the clock. He has also said, when asked about why the 2nd half offense was terrible, that the he gets too conservative in the 2nd half. How is all of this an indictment against a specific position group and position group coach, instead of the guy who calls the plays and the head man who makes that decision?

it has everything to do with replying to you, it's just inconvenient for the tantrum you're currently throwing.

with a better OL, those plays don't decide the game. but they did, because the OL failed to do their job. again.

my basis for why he's a bad coach is because we lose games on our inability to impose our will against other teams.

our signature wins against Wisconsin and Colorado were us racing out to a giant lead and hoping the other team couldn't play catch up. thank god it worked, because we are not able to put away teams unless we've built a 3+ score lead.

We outscored WI in the 3rd AND 4th quarter to stretch the 14 point halftime lead.

“imposing your will” hasn’t happened since the 90s for us. And it doesn’t happen in college football much

Im not sure what you’re expecting but our yards per carry went up significantly vs the previous year and sacks went DOWN. I think Raiola is doing just fine.

You don’t think his NFL experience and current performance is better than Satterfields body of work?

If there is a clear reason our offense wasn’t good over the last few years it seems like a no brainer to point to the guy who has constantly underachieved vs the guy (Raiola) who has done pretty well and has a stronger background.

The argument wasn’t if Raiola had his mentors long and distinguished resume - it was that his resume was far better than Satterfields.

Right because the offensive system, play calling, the amazing perimeter blocking the receivers did was all on Raiola. Forgot. My bad.

Donnie has had 3 years.

It’s now his 4th year.

We ran for 3.7 ypc and scored on just 59% of redzone trips on the road.

Our OL didn’t get any better, Dana covered them up with low hanging fruit scheme adjustments with 6+ blocking every play.

His recruits are largely absent, nobody has improved their personal draft stock under him.

He is a mascot who is only employed because of his last name.

Seems these much needed transfer targets have little interest in playing for him, which sucks.

I've always been careful to say three years with his recruits should show improvement on the line, It has. now we can have a discussion whether it's enough but there was improvement. This season will tell the tale. If the line doesn't show significant improvement Donovan might consider updating his resume.

Gottula - Raiola recruit, Evans - recruited by Dawson, but has only been coached by Raiola, Scott - recruited by Raiola via the portal, Mazzuca - recruited by Raiola via the portal, Lutovsky - coached by Raiola for 3 of his four years at NU, Benhart - coached by Raiola for 50% of his tenure at NU.

What was Benhart’s grade? Both he and Scott were HM All-B1G in 2023.

Illinois out-rushed us 4:1.

Indiana out-rushed us 3:1.

USC/UCLA both outrushed us.

Iowa hung out in the backfield whenever they felt like marching thru the turnstile that is our OL.

We averaged 3.7 ypc. That isn’t even top 10 in the conference. It’s worse than Purdue, ffs

Can you confirm Raiola’s additions made the cut? Since it says right there he’s narrowing it down. Can you confirm every single rushing play called the last 2 years were all only Raiola’s plays? So that way we know it’s nobody else’s fault but Raiola. Can you confirm that Raiola is the only person who calls the plays while we’re at it? Can you also confirm for us he is the only one who teaches wide receivers how to block? Donnie Raiola is the SOLE reason this team sucks on offense, we get it you hate that man, but I need some more evidence that this is only his fault and not even a smidge belonging to the career poverty HC/OC named Marcus Satterfield or the middle school JV coach with 3 hairs in his armpit coaching the receivers.

I guess Nebraska being 46th in the nation last year in yards per attempt rushing wasn’t good enough for you. 65% percentile in the nation (above average) and 4th in the Big Ten.
