Assistant Head Coach sounds like a very important position. They should pay him $170,000 per month.

They can't, it has to be comparable to previous years as a base minimum.
His one last great adventure ends in the house he never sold, with one AD's wreckage behind him and another's change required before he'd have been welcomed home.
Kind of bizarre to see him go back again but best of luck to him and his family.
Best wishes to him in Corvallis. I truly want him to succeed in what he does and hope that he can come back to visit after having success somewhere else to end his career.
It would probably hurt our playoff chances with them on the schedule, just like Wisky this year when people said their schedule was to weak.
With all due respect, their schedule was awful and wisky was never really good. They finally faced a good team and the game wasn't close.
But it didn't hurt Wisconsin. Win last Saturday and they're in the playoff.
Come on no one's said it yet? At least he won't have to go to the DMV to change his plates. Zing!

That's a weird dynamic for their new coach. Even if it was his idea that tells me in his own mind he's not ready to be the leader of a team.

Talked to a handful of Oregon St fans at the Portland airport after the Nebraska/Oregon - Minnesota/Oregon St week. They said they'd be happy to have Mike Riley back.
Jonathan Smith is an unknown, but Oregon St is a school that has to take chances with unknown guys.
I was making the point that Riley brought us down so low that a win over Nebraska was being viewed as a soft schedule. Got to get back to the days where we become the hunted not the homecoming game.

One of my observations of life: "You had to be where you were to get where you are". His record got us Frost. Do wish him the best.
It would be nice if they give him a nice fat salary. It will greatly reduce what we owe him.
Imagine, Gary Anderson won at Utah State, and called it quits at Oregon State. That should tell people something about that place.
They should keep someone who views it as a destination job as long as he wins occasionally. It'll never have long sustainable success.
Congratulations to Coach Riley. Am glad to see he finds a landing place to continue coaching as long as he can. AM glad he can continue to have a positive impact on kids lives.

Never really good?? They just had the nations top ranked defense. Held multiple teams well below thier average and many to their lowest yardage totals of the season.
Not sure how you consider a game that Wisc. Was within one score for all but the first series of the second half wasnt close.
