to me, it's obvious the writer was trying to troll everyone with that article.. i wonder how many clicks he got?
I don't know what to say.at no time did this writer say anything resembling a rational thought. I am now dumber for having read it. I award him 0 points and may God have mercy on his soul.
CBS news and sports is just terrible anymore. Some of these media outlets you swear have high schoolers just making crap up. You know, kind of like the Husker board..

I think some of it has to do with things like social media.. everything has to compete for eyeballs and when you have tweets and pics of Kim K or Bruce or whatever sparks conversation, the people who write things naturally feel like they have to create some sort of controversy in order to be seen.
Allow me to be the Devil's Advocate here: Why do you pro-Riley Huskers fans think everybody else in the country is wrong? Do you expect Riley to suddenly become something he has never been before? Even if he should somehow conjure up 9 wins this year or next we all know that won't be enough to satisfy the egos of the Nebraska fans, don't we?
I don`t get this pro Riley or pro Pelini crap at all. What happened to pro Huskers ? The program is bigger than any coach. Support the program which is the
constant, a coach comes and goes.
Agreed Randy. Mike Riley kicking ass is the best thing for Nebraska football. There are former Husker fans who now swear their allegiance to the head penguin and they hate the idea of Riley succeeding. They dismiss it as a possibility because they like to see their idol publicly depantsed, as if 7 years of it wasn't enough proof positive that he has the intelligence of pudding.
That would make Riley the dad...

For a lot of us, it isn't that the rest of the country is wrong... We've only seen 3 games... let things play out before proclaiming this a failure.
I truly think the hand-wringing wouldn't be going on if there weren't so many geniuses already throwing dirt on Riley's (or Banker's, as the case may be) grave.
What do you mean "everyone else in the country is wrong"? Everyone isn't saying Riley will fail, this article is. There was a rivals article posted yesterday about the great job this staff is doing on the recruiting front and we have seen countless analysts stating that Riley is a great coach and will succeed, but I guess you missed those.
I agree that Riley deserves some time and if he can win he is a perfect fit for NU - But he is not some new kid on the block he has been coaching for sometime now and so when a pattern develops here that is the same as it was at OSU - I think it deserves discussion
I do think some people on here hated Bo so much that they have 100% bought into Riley because he is the anti-Bo. It has nothing to do with his abilities as a coach. Now before all the insults start flying form this group which is standard MO - I too was tired of Bo's childish behavior but was more tired of getting beat down by good running teams - He has his chance and he failed time to move on
Riley now has his chance and i hope he succeeds - do I have reservations yes - Do I hope he succeeds yes to that also

If Bo was a dick and won I'd be all for it. At the end of the day it comes down to wins and if Riley doesn't win he will receive the same fate as Bo
I'm pro MR because he is coaching my favorite team, I am anti Bo because he sucked at coaching my favorite team and he didn't want to be here anymore. I'm all in on Nebraska.
He actually lost me before that, when he called Eichhorst "drowning." I'm not sold on Eich as AD, but I don't even know what that means, except Seth wanted to insult him while pretending to be objective.
I am happy as hell Bo is gone, pretty easy to know that. Do I believe Mike Riley is going to be the answer, I HAVE NO IDEA, but I will give him and staff a fair chance. I gave BO 4 yrs before I started to really tire of his act. MR is a class act and at I will at least give him 3 full recruiting cycles to really judge him. Anyone who has made their mind up he is going to suck after 4 games is a tool, period.
