Michigan shouldn't be allowed to go to the playoffs

I agree they don't belong but it's got more to do about not being competitive than cheating

no B1G teams deserve to play for a national title

But Michigan beat OSU who almost beat Georgia. You can’t compare scores.
This is why I hate the whole conference vs conference debate, you should debate how each team stacks up against each other. Don’t get me wrong I despise the BIG, but for other reasons, such as ethics and hypocrisy.

If Michigan suffers any penalty this season it will be Harbaugh getting suspended for the Maryland game.

Michigan is a revenue-generating, media darling program. Nothing of real consequence is going to come of this.

NCAA needs a statement to survive... Who better to sacrifice on the altar than such a revenue generating darling?

If the NCAA doesn't do to Me-cheatin'what they should do, then I say Rhule recruits over the scholarship limit and not worry about making numbers before next season. Fvck it!

Sounds like nfl rumor says they won't be a safe haven for Harbaugh

Michigan might have won all their games last year without cheating. The cheating could have likely played the role of providing insurance with differing amount of influence in each game. Maybe instead of beating Ohio State 45-23. Maybe it would have been 38-34 or maybe instead of beating Nebraska 34-3, they win 28-13. OR maybe they do slip and lose in one of the games. It does seem fishy that TCU was warned of Michigan sign stealing operation and had time to make some adjustments that might explain why they were successful against Michigan but then TCU moves on to the Championship Game to get blown to smithereens by a Georgia team that barely beat Ohio State who Michigan blew out?

But on the whole, while acknowledging that it is interesting to speculate on what would have happened without the cheating, the simple fact of the matter is that Michigan's method of surveilling their future opponents goes against NCAA rules and they do need to be held account for that. I reference that because some Michigan defenders are simply trying to argue that Michigan would have won without the signal stealing operation.

Also, I understand the angst about Michigan being allowed to go the playoffs this year, but if someone doesn't beat them, then that is likely where they are headed. The NCAA's investigation process is slow and even if they issued a notice of allegations today, Michigan would have at least 90 days to respond before they could be enforced which would fall into late January 2024,, When Ohio State was disciplined for the players selling awards for tattoos around 2010, the NCAA had not concluded their investigation by bowl season and let Ohio State play in the Sugar Bowl but then later on made them vacate their wins for the season taking away a Sugar Bowl title and co-Big Ten championship after they completed their investigation. I could see Michigan going through this season and trying to win all the titles, then later trying to fight for probation or future bowl bans or scholarships to avoid the NCAA taking away from a special year. That may not be "fair" but I think that is what Michigan might be thinking.

Hate to be the voice of reason on this, but as much as most of us have already tried this case in the court of public opinion (myself included), there's still an innocent until proven guilty element here. NCAA can't afford to botch it by rushing things. They'll get the shit sued out of them and end up looking much worse than if they take their time and get it right.

Maybe the evidence is so overwhelming that they can make a move before the end of this season, but I highly doubt it. The most we can probably realistically hope for this season is that without the cheating, they lose to Penn St and/or Ohio St and get exposed even further.

You constantly belittle the B10 and then act like HH played 1 against 11 in the Superbowl when we beat the last place team.
Cmon guy, how about we support our guys instead of throwing them under the bus to save the the face of the conference that voted DONU out of the AAU and their fanboys on national media calling for Nebraska to be kicked out of the conference?

Was talking to a prior College position coach (NOT @ NU) about this very topic last week... He confirmed what we all know in that EVERY team does this.... they all study the signals and try their best to plan around it and this is why you'll see distraction signals also being sent in... Everything is on film already for them to study... The difference is that they had a guy whose sole job was this and this alone...

did they go further then others, yep... is this also being blown out of proportion? yep... Should they be punished? maybe? Am I a Hairball fan? No Way Jose...

FWIW, He also told Mike Riley (old friend of his) that he was in over his head taking the Nebraska job... That said he believes Rhule was the correct hire and will get DONU back to relevancy

I disagree that it is being blown out of proportion.. if osu got a bowl ban for a player selling an award, then b!tchigan deserves a much harsher punishment

Yeah, I saw that but what does that mean?

Like, NFL teams won't want him now?
I think what it means is they will enforce any penalty that ncaa imposes. Suspension, fine etc. There's been coaches suspended and sanctioned by ncaa for a designated time frame that causes hiring issues. I'm assuming that is what nfl is thinking. They won't be a safe haven for coaches that get in trouble from ncaa.....Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll...I'm sure there's been other's that just jumped ship to avoid penalties
