Just booked a getaway trip to Miami. Never been to Miami other than the airport. We are staying a week at the Acqualina resort near South Beach. We are headed end of February.

I see a Joe's Stone Crab is near so i'll definitely go there, I loved the one in Vegas...anybody been in this area before? What should we do?

Pretty sweet city. When my wife and I went, we rented a convertible and drove a couple hours south to go snorkeling in the keys. Apparently South Beach at night is the place to be in Miami though

We aren't club type though- we'd rather sit at a nice restaurant and have drinks and enjoy the scenery type. I'll look into that, not sure if the water will be warm enough this time of year...no idea about that stuff.

It'll be a bit chilly, but the place we went to provided wetsuits. The snorkeling was amazing though! We had just returned from a cruise to the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas, and the snorkeling in the Keys was actually be than both! IDK about nice restaurants, we ate at a couple smaller local places that were good though

* Lincoln Road
* Coconut Grove
* Coral Gables (Hurricanes baseball is a hoot if they start their season while you are there. Also, some good restaurants in Coral Gables. Hit the Biltmore pool; pay the fee; rent a cabana.)
* See what shows are playing at the Gleason center in South Beach.
* Drive over the bridge to Key Biscayne.
* Consider driving up to Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Beach if you are there for an extended period of time.

You can just get a crab walking the streets down there. I love Miami. Take an umbrella around 1pm

there's plenty of places to do that on South Beach.

...and on Lincoln Road, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables...in that order. Lincoln Road is adjacent to South Beach and really is a must do. It is mostly closed to cars (except cross intersections), the restaurants and shops are great and stay open late, and the people watching is really good...in every way...

i would avoid going to the Keys unless you want to snorkel. Boring drive, and Key West is a real tourist dump, imo.
agree with lincoln road and coconut grove--we are heading there tomorrow.

I ate at Joe's Stone Crab this past Sunday night with some friends from Omaha. The food is ALWAYS top notch. They open at 5PM for dinner and it can get really busy around 7PM so I recommend eating early.

If you are taking children you would like Lion Country Safari located West of West Palm Beach.

Ocean Drive in Miami Beach is GREAT for observing GORGEOUS girls.

If you like gambling go to the Hard Rocks casino in Hollywood.

Check the internet for shows. Not Las Vegas but many top stars are here.

Clearly may not be your scene, but one of my favorite places to hit up is King of Diamonds.

There are so many great places to hit up in Miami. A trip down to the keys, even if it is just for a lunch or dinner trip is worth it.

Things to do in South Beach:

1. Eat at Bazaar by Jose Andres
2. At some point go to La Sandwicherie
3. Reserve, and go to, the Sunday drag queen brunch at Palace Bar.
4. Without question, eat at Yardbird
6. If you are so inclined, bring your passports and take a 20 minute flight from MIami to Bimini, Bahamas and enjoy a day, or two.
7. If you do this, eat at Stuart's Conch Shack, with a little portion cup of the local scotch bonnet peppers, drink some of his concoction, and enjoy!
8. Rent a Golf Cart in Bimini
