Matt Rhule is the savior of Nebraska football

Matt Rhule has officially saved Nebraska football.
I like Rhule personally BUT I'm not yet sold on him as the savior of Nebraska football. The thing that troubles me about Rhule is that his teams so far just don't seem to have the killer instinct follow through to finish it off in either individual games or during the second half of the season. So of course I hope he has a gangbusters third season and I'm going to cheer the team on BUT I'm still also gonna wait and see before I declare him a success. He needs to beat some teams ranked higher than Nebraska next year.

Obviously none of us know how the Rhule regime will unfold but he just might be the Devaney of this era. Devaney encountered new ideas in strength training & nutrition and Nebraska became a leader in those. Rhule has to navigate a new world of NIL & The Transfer Portal. Rhule seems more open to change than any HC that we've had in awhile.

I'm more optimistic about Husker football than I've been in quite awhile. Of course, we just won today. 🤣

Today was a rare performance by the offense in the end, they got the first down to ice the game. No fumble or int thrown. No 3 and out. May they take this success and move forward

We lost that killer instinct culture long before he got here and I believe he’s working hard to repair it. You can see so many positive changes. He’s moving us the right direction and doing it the right way. Hopefully he can be the guy because I think he’s a great face for our program. I’m rooting for him

We do not know yet where we are on this timeline, but prior to Devaney, NU had 3 winning seasons in 20 years. Rhule has the first winning season and bowl appearance in 8 years and the second winning season in a decade. So if you think you’ve seen lean years as a Husker fan, go back to the 40s and 50s.
The talent on the current roster is young, the incoming class looks very good, and the portal adds range from value picks to power conference ready. Rhule finally landed Holgerson and Butler looks like he can call a defense. Eeyores can wring their hooves about special teams, but that is fixable. Being on the wrong side of a talent deficit is hard to overcome and Rhule has improved the talent level of the roster substantially.

He's already done in 2 years what our last three coaches failed to do, which is probably why they failed. He removes coordinators and position coaches that aren't meeting the standard. He has also progressed from year 1-2 and from the looks of recruiting and the big one (talent holdover) year three will be far better.
