Would be great to see real physicality on the d. I still remember how much more physical Miami looked last year in hat game, especially the first half.
When I was a kid, the game was how much we would win by, not IF we would win. I would love to see us get back to a punishment mentality. You may score more points than us... but we will BEAT you. It was like we played offense twice.
We all would love to be back to that. It takes time now. It seemingly began to crumble after the beat down by CU. It can get a jump start by beating a marquee opponent. Oregon will be a nice start, but honestly I think a win over Ohio State has a better likelihood of giving the team the proverbial shot in the arm that is needed to escalate again.
I thought that first half was more of a state of mind and mentality problem for the Huskers. When you're not prepared to play in that heat or in front of an empty stadium, you can look weak and uninspired.
Well these coaches were dealing with many factions on the so called team. IMO the well had been poisoned by Bo; its a dead horse now; but the coaches were battling to get many to follow. Lets not forget the impartial TV announcers that would pop up a few years ago and say " amazing this group of N players needs to be taught how to tackle " ; it was much discussed on here as true. ... Wouldn't lose any sleep over it - the players have now seen a D coach replaced ( and he can be considered a very good coach on a national level ); his replacement brings drive and strive to excellence ( coach Parella ) - the Blackshirts are well on their way back. You saw it in injured senior lb's trying to help; while the young ones rapidly brought it. The db's were starting to " play the ball " ; towards the end of the year, as if coach Sanders was back ( really encouraged that the new coach is moving them there ). It really is a process; the staff behind the scene appears to be excelling; some while learning and developing new things on the job : we should all be as much. All our coaches are becoming all they can be - some being seen as destination coaches for training to the NFL, bump in recruiting for sure. GBR Overall, many seem to forget we beat a talent laden UCLA team ; that was teeming with talent, even at qb. We beat MSU ( Iowa is talented but our qb gave up multiple scores and couldn't have played worse or more in opposition to the coaches - but that may have finally cleared that air ); we will be much more physical this year IMO; but we belonged on the field and the coaches showed this as they built a team and the other legacy went up in smoke; or rather it was cleared away.
What board have you been on? I've seen all of these this past year. Much of it has merit, although you could argue otherwise.
But to say this is the first you've seen of this? Hmmm...
It was a random assortment of all of them written in a nonsensical way. It wasn't the excuses per say just the amount and order all in one strange paragraph.
