Lewis and Lindsey

I actually think Cethan Carter is one of the better TE's In college. Sort of reminds me a little of Matt Herian. Stay healthy young fella. GBR

Carter is an NFL tight end. He will go anywhere from the 2nd to 4th rounds. I hate to make this comparison since the man is a murderer. But Cethan Carter's skill set is very similar to Aaron Hernandez.

Carter is a lot more talented than Matt Herian, especially post injury.

Carter has more physical talent than Herian. You probably need to go back to the days of Johnny Mitchell to find a TE at Nebraska who could match (or exceed) Carter's physical talent. I would give Herian the edge though as a pass catcher. Herian was much more of a natural pass catcher. In fact, IMO Herian would have been the better TE in college (and NFL) than the more talented Carter if it hadn't have been for the injury.
Post-injury, Herian was just another guy playing TE. We appreciate the effort, but it was sad comparing him to what he was before the injury.
If Carter proves this season (and in the offseason workouts before the draft) he can catch the ball, I could see him going 2nd round. Until that happens, the 4th round grade may be more accurate.

Back to Lewis and Lindsey, the more I read about them the more I think about how important W's are this year. Win those close games and get double digit wins = more recognition to those 4* and 5* recruits. Lose those close games = the momentum stops fast. Lots of variables but at the end of the day we need those W's.
Agree. I remember last year Riley was winning the offseason. A whole lot of "not Bo" was a welcome relief to everyone. He seems to continue winning this offseason. I'm sure Riley knows how critical it is to show improvement this season in the actual games.
If we have a good season, I expect the recruiting momentum to continue. If we start losing, it'll get nasty in a hurry.
As for WR recruiting, I think Lindsey's ties to Ohio St are at least as big or bigger than to NU. OSU has a commit from his QB buddy. Lewis has lots of alternatives. We've got a shot at both, but we're not in the drivers seat with either. It seems like we have a lot more WRs we're in touch with. That's one position in recruiting I'm not worried at all. If we don't get Lewis and Lindsey, we'll still get others who are way better than NU has gotten historically.

Agree 100% Riley needs to win games which will be very important to keep this surge in recruiting going.

People make fun of 9 the win seasons but Riley needs to at least achieve this for 2016 season.

Nu vs oU this year might be a turning point. Not just for Mike Riley, but NU football in general. Alot hinges on that game, and living in Pac 12 country, nothing would be sweeter than a duck ass whooping.

In regards to Cethan/Herian comparison. Just saying Herian, before injury, made a huge impact for our offense. Then injuries happen and yada yada yada. Not necessarily saying you can exchange one for the other and get the same type of player, just two really good players who played the same position who dealt with injuries. Matt never returned to greatness, so as long as Cethan stays healthy, I don't see anything less than 2nd team All B1G selection. GBR
