If Nebraska decides to keep HCMR, would Scott Frost leave UCF for another school this year?

Depends if he gets an offer from Tennessee, Florida, UCLA, etc. if he does, yes. If not, no.

My guess is if he's still as hot as he is now then yes he'll go somewhere else. I doubt he's basing his entire future on whether or not we want him to coach here at some point. This is the year we get our shot.

What if we hire SF as OC to be HCIW with a guarantee MR will retire after his (MR's) contract is up?

I doubt someone in his position is going to take a demotion to work under a guy with a completely different offensive philosophy.

Why on earth would we keep riley?

THIS IS THE WHAT IF GAME DAMN IT!!
To not Blow up another recruiting class and allow a smoother transition if you can't see it as a viable option and smart move TS. Tired of the powers that be cursing anything and everything Riley has done for us grow up. Make no mistake we can still have a high quality class with cooler heads and not selling our soles to Frosty,

LMAO, because he will take that recruiting class and develop them into winners?? you dont not fire a coach because they are recruiting "okay" classes when the next guy will do "okay" too if not better

That would actually be great. 1. Save the recruiting class. 2. Save money on paying MR buyout. 3. Give Frost time to reaclimate to Nebraska culture. 4. Give Frost time to get recruiting established. Would be a much smoother transition. That being said it will never happen. Frost said last Neb HC coach search he would never come back to coach at Neb unless it was the HC.

Why on earth would Frost want to do that with the success (and money) he's having at UCF? And if we're going to let go of Riley then lets just pull off the band-aid and do it.
Agree, I really don't see this point of keeping him until year end. Everyone knows he is gone no matter what. Moos knows it. If we let him go now, it starts the ball rolling on everything from coaching search to recruiting 4 weeks sooner. The only reason I can see that he isn't being let go now is because Frost is going to be the guy. Out of respect for his current team he wants to finish out the regular season.
