Kyrie Irving either trolling or completely nuts...

OK, so he's just really really late to the party. Stating everything you read isn't true isn't exactly an earth-shattering moment.

No, not earth-shattering, and I'm not really a fan of Kyrie either. But sadly, still an important reminder given the all-out assault on facts, truthfulness and journalistic integrity as of late.

I don't dislike KI. He's a hell of a player, but at this point, if a person needs to be reminded that not all news is equal, they are probably being cared for by the state.

Apparently you haven't had kids in school that took algebra then! lol

My 3rd grade girls are already learning shapes and angles in school and I help them with that stuff all I can. I am a nerd and actually liked math in high school.

I just helped my niece with her geometry homework about a month ago.

I farm and was trying to figure out a yield on a field based off the yield that the combine showed vs the yield we ended up with at the elevator where we had two different seeds. One seed was planted on 158 acres and the other was planted on 68 acres or so. Well, we got 17,500 bushels total and I knew the combine's harvest monitor numbers for each type of seed.

I seriously ended up writing out a formula on paper to solve for X...

It took me at least 15 minutes, but I figured out what the actual yield was for each hybrid so I could give the information to my Channel Seed dealer.

Since high school, I have probably used actual algebra on paper just a handful of times. I have used math almost every day in my life. I have used geometry quite a few times, especially when I was building a large building for my dad last year.

What was the answer?

Ha! By the looks of my Facebook feed, you just described 25-50% of the population.

Yeah, you're probably right. Or maybe it's just a case of wishful thinking that the article they post is accurate. That's why I've always thought that hard-line conservatives and hard-line liberals have a screw loose. They're willing to believe anything, as long as it is aligned with their political slant.

The combine said 115bu/ac but I ended up figuring it at 89bu/ac for the Channel and the combine showed like 78 but I ended up figuring 60bu/ac for the Select Seeds variety next to it.

Sucks that 95% of the state had above average rainfall this past summer, but the two counties we farm in had only .20" off rain from June 1 to August 21! So dry. Lucky to have gotten ears on our corn at all on our dryland.

I totally agree with that
I'm with you spartan.

One thought I have had about the age of the earth... assuming God created Adam and Eve and the rest of creation, how old were Adam and Eve the day after they were created? 1 day... but how old did they look? They were created as mature adults. Why couldn't God create a mature earth that appears much older than it is?

Just a simple thought I have had... I'm sure many won't agree, and that's fine.

I've thought the same thing as well, as if He were challenging us to maintain our faith by believing the timeline of the Bible, despite many fossils and artifacts suggesting that the universe was much older.

I suppose if You (God) can create the elements necessary for the ultimate creation of the universe, everything else would be small potatoes (e.g. creating a savior via immaculate conception).

I find it amazing that in my lifetime, we have gone from almost NOBODY challenging creationism/Biblical stories to almost no one willing to stand up for it....I do. I know that may make me a target of ridicule, and I hold no ill will toward those who may mock me, but I'm trying to keep my eyes focused.

Blessings to everyone, today.

What astounds me is that so many people feel that you either have to stand for either Evolutionism or Creationism. They can very comfortably coexist, IMO.

I'm of the mind that God built into each cell the ability to evolve. Actually, it's proven every day that cells evolve...in that bacteria become resistant to antibiotics. And...our ability to adjust to our environment is inherently built into meiosis, by the chromosomes swapping genetic information with each other. That IS evolution in a nutshell.

But...given that information, it's still very apparent, IMO, that the universe is so incredibly complex that there was a blueprint created by something far more creative and intelligent than we'll ever be able to fathom.
