Personally, I think he really is too small to have a long NFL career, but going to the As isn't exactly like playing for the Yankees or Cubs. Plus you can get stuck in the minors for several years and lose your chance at football if it doesn't work out. Going back to OU raises the risk of injury and losing everything.

I don't think he's 69". He is shorter than that. I don't care what he plays for a career. I only watch Nebraska play baseball.

Agree. The Alabama game had him pretty beaten up and that pales in comparison to 16 NFL games per year. Take the money and stay physically intact.

Most MLB players would prefer to play in a packed Wrigley every day instead of a derelict stadium in Oakland. Hell, Harper named his dog Wrigley.

He has been awesome at the highest level- Allen in high school (6A- largest in Texas, three state championships, Gatorade National POY as senior), Oklahoma- Heisman. The kid is a player, period. Give me him all day and you can have your big stiff QB

I would lean toward baseball since the average career is longer and he would very likely have a better quality of life after his career is over. I think he already signed to play baseball so my guess is he must love that sport. Plus, he's probably a better prospect in baseball being a top 10 draft pick and all. That said, with NFL teams moving toward more spread concepts, a little guy like Murray has as good a shot as ever at becoming an NFL starter. Could he be the next Russell Wilson? Maybe, but then again Wilson probably would not even be in the NFL if he would have hit worth a darn in the minors.

He should honor his commitment to the A's they allowed him to play one football season and Murray had a great one. NFL would break him in half when they catch him see Allen Hurns' ankle for example.

I don't think he'll succeed at the highest level (NFL) as an elusive QB. His playing days would be very short. Drew Bree isn't very big, but he is a pure passing QB and his body hasn't taken the beating Kyler would as a runner

Dont know if it’s a certainty about the money part- being a first or second rounder would be for about the same payday. And its not a certainty he’ll be a major leaguer. Remember Bubba Starling?
