I think you’re taking that view to an extreme and I believe in his heart that he knows what the problem is. I expect Satt is going to be allowed to seek a new opportunity after the season. 😉

If Rhule knows what the problem is, when did he know it? Was it after the fanbase blowback after losing to 2-5 UCLA at home, securing his 7th straight failure to do what we expect him to do?
If so, why is he so dull to see what has been obvious trends?
If it was before then, what corrective action has he taken and how effective has it been?
The plan and play calling was better against OSu. Satt publicly admitted that he needed to adjust his view of what committing to the run meant. Then in that first half against UCLA it was as if he completely forgot what he said after IU. Satt is completely aware of what the radio and social media outlets are saying. Rhule IMO is frustrated by his OC’s play calling.
We need to allow the evaluation by Rhule and our AD to play out.
Absolutely it was. OU always had speedy teams but they played an entirely different style of ball than those Florida teams did.

Exactly. I think we over/underestimate play calling when being an offensive coordinator is way more complicated than that. Is he coaching the players correctly to do what needs to be done to have a successful offense? Has he got the right players at the right positions, does he work well with his quarterback coach, offensive line coach, receivers coach? All we can see are the play calls on game day. That’s why it’s a really good idea to bring in competent outside folks to figure out where the problem is, and show that you’re willing to fix it. It also makes it easier to fire your buddies if that’s what it’s needed, and find the best replacement.
This is a great take. An OC’s job is also in the title which is to coordinate the entire offense from the QB, OL, RB, TE, and WR. He has to have all of those position coaches on the same page and if everyone is just off doing their own thing, it’s never going to function regardless of play calling.
So having Mickey for a few extra weeks was worth 7 million from the athletic department? Scott's buyout would shrink by 7 million if he coached into October, Scott was fired on September 11th. Trev set up the contract to fire Scott in October if things went bad, as expected, they did and he still had to fire him early....big red flag on Trev's decision making.
Good god Rhule, anyone that watches football can tell u what’s wrong- have some balls , earn that big $$$paycheck that comes with being the HC at NEBRASKA - not best friend of all time- fire your OC,ST, and WR coach for starters (they are in over their heads- obviously). There u go - get a RUN FIRST OC that demonstrates imagination and call Busch to be your ST coach (hell of a recruiter too) on one year deal

Then say to those people I am keeping him for three more weeks and I'll take your 7 million on top of the 7 million that I am saving the Athletic department for a top coach and an elite assistant coaching pool. You guys act like these poor athletic directors making millions can't have a shred of courage and intelligence. Obviously NU hasn't had ANY competence in the football program for a decade because we are the worst program over that time in college football, an absolute embarrassment.
