We went from Frosts 3 star guys to Rhules no stars. Hopefully Rhules ability to coach kids and put them in the right spots will over come the talent issues. Also physical development will help. I'm tired of backs who weigh 190 and linebackers who weigh 210. I want to see dudes with ****ing muscles.
We will put the stars on them.

You said you wanted to see kids with ****ing muscles. Strength does not precipitate speed.
I want to see running backs and linebackers that look like they should be playing division 1 football. Athletic, big, fast and smart. We don't have anyone on this roster who has all four of those. We don't have anybody who has 2 out of those 4 attributes

How many schools that have had 6 losing seasons in a row have that type of athlete?

I'd rather see an OL with a bunch of 6'2" to 6'5" 310# kids, and a DL with 6'3" to 6'5" 310# kids that will allow those RBs and LBs to do their job. Big kids on both sides of the ball that can move.

Fix the OL and the running game and those types of backs will come. Fix the DL and those types of LBs will be freed up to make the type of plays that we want.

Kids like Bijan Robinson at 6'0" and 210# or Deuce Vaughn at 5'6" and 170# have proven they can be outstanding and productive backs if they have the right type of OL in front of them.

How many of these unrated "diamonds in the rough" have actually ended up being major contributors here? I always think of guys like Mason Wald and Micah Kreikemeier. There were reasons why they weren't ranked and didn't have any other Power 5 offers.

11.29 is from 10th grade. His LJ PR would have given him the silver behind Jaylen Lloyd in class A last year.
Well if we get both of them, hopefully we can utilize their long jump skills in the redzone!

That's because we've been shit at development for the past 22 years
Yes.
All NU fans are well aware of our labels over the years.

The pipeline took years to develop and then maintain. Coach Osborne, Tenopir, and Young had a plan and they gave it time to be executed and be built even stronger.

The reputation of having great blocking fullbacks.

The reputation of producing great option QBs.

For years, NU was at the top for producing great I-backs.

Year after year, NU maintained the reputation for producing this or that aspect of the football program.

For the last 6 seasons, the only reputation has been as losers. This program has no other identity.

It's about time someone came in and made a declaration that player development, a strong running game, and a fast defense will be the goal of this program. It's gonna take time, but at least Rhule and his crew have developed a road map at 2 other schools of how to get there.

We all would like it to happen faster, yet cutting corners, and changing course in midstream would yield the same bullshit results that we've all had to endure for far too long.
