Klatt, AP and Pre-Season coaches poll top 25

Huskers received 16 AP votes

more than wisc and CU - Rhule's two measuring stick opponents

it seems the expectation is that we will be better than both of those teams. would be great for it to play out that way on the field

Lane was also my fist (realistic) choice 2 years ago. No idea if he would have come or not, but the fact he landed where he did, suggests he would have considered it.

Ole Miss in the top 10. Gonna be fun to watch that team. They should be 6-0 when they travel to LSU week 7. Lane Kiffin was my choice two years ago. 👍
We could’ve got that dude with any amount of money.

Ole Miss, ND, Mich and Penn St will all finish lower than their pre-season ranking. iowa is way way way overrated. Their schedule is pure trash (fitting) but they still won’t finish in the top 25.
Iowa has 3 easy games early, Illinois State. Troy and Minnesota. Don't know anything about Iowa State this year, but the Cyclones usually play them tough. They will get trounced by Ohio State. Do not know how good U Dub will be with a new coach and transfer Qb Will Rogers but I imagine they will be able to score some points and Iowa's offense under conservative Kirk are not built for big points. Mich State also has a new coach so this likely is another Hawkeye win. I have no faith in Northwestern. I think they will lose to the Badgers. I think UCLA is going to be a train wreck. Petros Papadakis, a well-connected LA sports radio guy thinks UCLA hired DeShaun Foster as a sacrificial lamb. He claims the big money UCLA supporters would only support hiring a big-time coach. The administration was not helped with the timing of Chip Kelly's departure, so they were unable to get any interest from anyone of stature, so they went with Foster. He "only" got a 5-year, $15-18 million dollar contract. Don't know anything about Maryland, an away game. That leads us to the Huskers. Let's hope Matt has the boys playing well and we come away with a victory. I am predicting Iowa will have at a minimum 3 losses, OSU, Wis and the Huskers. We can always hope for more.

Does Notre Dame have the easiest schedule of the Top 25? The home game against Florida State is really their own chance of a loss with USC in LA having an outside shot. All the rest are a walk in the park. No Way will a 11-1 or even a 10-2 ND be excluded from a 12 team CFP game.
i'm picking aTm to beat notre dame in the opener. not sure how you get to your conclusion? going to college station, playing the aggies in 90 degree texas heat and humidity will wilt the fightin' irish to mere leprechauns.

A&M was winless last year as underdogs. 0-5
new coach, new coordinators, new systems - elko/klein will do well in aggieville. like N, they needed a reset from jimbo flash to the basics. in time i look for houston to get a lot better under willie fritz as well, very much like leipold at ku. michigan state will be interesting bringing a left-coaster to sparty - not sure how that one works. i look for M to take a serious dive post harbaugh - that may take a year or so to unfold though, as he left talent. penn state too will be fascinating with the addition of andy kotelnicki at o'coordinator. his ku offense was like trying to corral a husk of jackrabbits across an open pasture. i suspect ole miss is overrated - lane tends to drive the media narrative. and missouri has been drinking the koolaid but suspect that one may turn south. can't wait for this all to start.

There's almost no humidity, but it'll be hotter than 90 most likely.
