What’s our RB room like right now, Emmit Johnson, Dowdell, who else? I know Gabe Irvin has entered the portal and Rahmir has run out of eligibility.
Kwinten Ives. Then the 2 stud freshman coming N. Conor and Jamarion.
Two freshmen coming in - Booth and Parker. Then we have Ives and Mekhi Nelson, who we haven't really seen.
Ives should probably go. How many RBs do we carry? Six? I can’t help but wonder if Booth could be a starting linebacker or safety someday. Fullbacks/H-backs. are going to be scholarship guys going forward.
Plenty of depth then. I know these things get put out by accounts for propaganda and clicks but sure doesn’t seem to be a need for Lacy.
I was very impressed with Lacy as a high school recruit and was sorry he decommitted. I thought he might be a bigger contributor as a freshman. Not sure what happened at Mizzou. I really don't know if the Huskers still have a spot for him or not. I've heard good things about Nelson plus we have two incoming RBs in the 2025 class.
Missouri fans/newspaper seems sad to see him leave. We have our every down back in EJ. We have our thumper in Dowdell. We have our young guys in Parker and Booth. Parker is our speed guy. Can't see how he fits here, even moving off Ives and Nelson. I would still take him though.
Mizzou burned his redshirt for 5 games. Said it before. James Williams is lucky Rhule cares about his players. His value would way less with 1 year of eligibility left.

Seeing that Johnson and Dowdell are the only ones who have done anything of substance at Nebraska. I would simply evaluate him against Ives, Nelson, Booth, and Parker. If I deemed him better than any of those I would absolutely take him.
In fact I'd probably narrow it down to Nelson and Ives. Having just signed Booth and Parker I don't think you get rid of either even if you don't think they are potentially better. Personally I still like Booth as a FB/HB type. But that's for another day I guess.
If I like him better than Ives or Nelson which I actually do (me lol) I'd take him.
But again there will only be so many spots available. I think it's safe to say if you don't think he's better than anyone in that top 6 we probably had him evaluated wrong to begin with.

I really doubt that Rhule would accept Lacy now. He burned his bridges when he decommitted.
Didn't play a single down of defense his entire career if memory serves me right. I know over the last two years for sure. Don't see him moving in that direction, but one never knows.
He's going to be an interesting one to watch from a playing standpoint.
I would normally agree, but principle and integrity and all that good stuff is out the window. Anyone coming here initially stands a good chance to transfer out at any time, or at least pretend to want to transfer. With the lowering to 105, I’d raise the % of the amount of players that come into a program with the intent to stay more than a couple years to about 30%.
Yeah, but it wouldn’t be likely that Rhule or most coaches give one of their own decommits a spot again. CERTAINLY not a guy who barely played. But the point is likely moot as I am sure we won’t look at him.
Ok, how about players that come here and then leave? Would you be ok with Kaelin returning in a couple years when we need a new starting qb?
My point is I think we need to realize everything is different now that college football is pro football. These guys are in business for themselves just like any other pro athletes.
They are in business for themselves but sacrificing a program's culture for problem children even though they are highly ranked is an absolute NO. They maybe in business for themselves, but they are not pro's by a long shot not at this stage.
Booth was the most dominant Class C running back in state history-- and Neumann plays a decent schedule. That doesn't mean that he'll play, but in my mind Booth reminds me of some backs that Iowa, Northwestern, Purdue have had over the years. Unheralded, but big, physical, and faster than they look. Could Booth also play some FB if Dana chooses to keep some I formation stuff in?
I've got a good feeling about Parker too. I think Parker plays right away next year and Booth has a shot.
From my understanding Booth is even better baseball player and will start immediately .
