And arizona fans are happy he's gone
he can step into stevenson's slot, another prima donna.

this portal thing is completely out of hand. baylor losing l.j. cryer. goodness! national championship coach but not good enough.

a lot of dudes going to improve their place setting, i suppose, but just as many will be left wanting.

Unless you are already getting a big NIL deal, it makes sense to me to go in the portal, to see if you can get a better NIL Deal.

i'm sure that's part of the equation. but it's not like baylor boosters don't have money.

Many kids liked the attention/fanfare surrounding their original recruitment and commitment

Going into the portal - aside from the NIL possibilities - allows kids to recreate the recruitment and commitment process another (sometimes multiple) time(s)

Javian McCollum is visiting. Would be a great get. One of the better mid-major players in the country this year.

Not that this is unknown but a lot of players NOT in the portal make it known what it will take for them to leave their current school, through the back channels.

I LOVE NIL and think it is great but I never thought it would be this kind of money. I really thought it would be like 5k or 10k.

I'm hoping we can get McCollum or Wrightsell Jr., preferably Wrightsell. And then maybe we can pair him with Hunter Sallis. Two Omaha kids leading the Big Red! I know Sallis is probably a long shot, but man would he be a great fit with the new style Fred's trying to play.

I'm glad that we didn't get him. Point guards who bring it up and launch one from 25' without even making a pass isn't my idea of good team basketball. And the recipe for success in Lincoln is play great defense backed up by good shot selection on offense.

Not sure how Wrightsell would fit in on a roster with Jamarques Lawrence and Keisei Tominaga. It seems like he would not get many minutes at the 2-guard spot if those two guys return. He was a high-volume (and low percentage) shooter at Fullerton, so I'm not sure he would be a good fit here unless he's willing to take on a very different role. I don't think Fred would let him launch up 15-20 shots a game like he did at Fullerton.

It appears that Fred is trying to sell Sallis on being the point guard here. I don't see it happening, he has never seemed to have any interest in the Huskers. It seems like San Diego State would be a great fit for him, plus his Mom played basketball there.

McCollum appears to be Fred's second Point Guard option if/when Sallis says no. I really like his game, the only knock against him is his size, and he can be a bit turnover-prone at times. But he reminds me a lot of Tyson Walker at MSU, he has virtually the same stats that Walker had when he transferred to MSU, and they are the same size.

Portal commits all over are slow right now...Players are realizing that they can really work NIL un their favor.
