I don't remember who we were up against when we recruited him. USC maybe? He was a tough get so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised he's leaving. The uncertainty with our DL coach situation isn't helping us but I would bet it's because he's coaching for a team in the playoff...
Hopefully he brings some dudes with him when he comes.
Maybe we need to hire a DL coach who is an asshole so if he leaves none of the players follow him....... I was surprised when we landed Davis. Oh well. THIS is why you recruit so heavily in the 500 mile radius and legacy kids.

Rhule and his staff HAVE to stop using that kind of hyperbole when talking about our players. Save it for their senior year. Most of these kids already have over inflated egos.
I expect lots of walk ons to wait until after the bowl game to declare. Some may even stay through spring to see if they can land inside the 105.
Unless the coaches tell them to take a walk early, they may as well go to NYC and see the sights and try to find a way to stay warm on the bench.

Just a reminder that until a transfer destination is announced anyone who enters the portal this month could just be seeking a “pay” raise. Unless a player was concerned that entering the portal would cause the coaches to shut the door on “returning,” why wouldn’t any player test the waters in this crazy pay for play environment?
And even after a new destination is chosen, they could come back. Recall Proctor the 5* Iowa kid who played at Alabama in 2023, entered the portal when Saban retired, enrolled at Iowa last January, and then returned to Alabama weeks later. We may have to wait until next Summer to really know who is MIA from this year’s team🤣

Totally agree, make these kids prove it in practice and actual games before you annoint them the next......
Hyperbole will bite you in the ass because it gives off the "vibe" to both the kid and his likely agent that you are really valued at your present school. May as well take a stroll in the portal and see what the other programs think.
We are going to score 40+ a game next year and lose as we flip totally to the otherside. Can't stop anyone and go 6-6 while averaging 45 a game
According to portal rules, when a player enters the portal, he can return but the coaches do not have to offer him a scholarship.
So, if he leaves, and he was a scholarship kid who really didn't fit in your plans you could forewarn him the scholarship will not be available if he chooses to return, or can make that decision without telling the kid then either give him the scholarship back or decide not to.
Hope the D -Line starts are well conditioned! Between Keona, Jimari, Princewill I'd assume that's a lot of snaps other players will be getting.
Once White left you knew that a ton of defensive players were going in the portal. I don't like it but it's the nature of the game now. We'll see if Rhule can adapt to the landscape.
Depends on what Nash and Ty do. Nash, Ty, Jeudy, RVP, MJ, McGahee. I probably forgot 1 or 2.

For potential star players the scholarship is almost pocket change as is the bowl trip. Obviously lesser players would be idiots to enter the portal unless they are willing to make a huge gamble or have another deal in place.

Having a generation of kids who have gotten used to participation ribbons and everybody massaging their self esteem hasn't always paid dividends.
