I just spoke briefly with Kenyatta Watson Sr., the father of Kenyatta Watson Jr., to see if Nebraska is a possible destination for his four-star son now that he is transferring from Texas. According to Watson Sr., Nebraska has not contacted his son yet and, most likely, he will end up somewhere closer to home.
"He's literally been offered by 44 schools in the past 24 hours," Watkins Sr. stated. "He will be home tomorrow because he can finish his classes online. So, we will just start breaking it down from there. My biggest concern right now is just getting my son back home and figuring out our next move."
Asked why his son left Texas, Watkins Sr. replied:
"Just a personal choice. It's nothing negative against Texas because it's a great program, great coaches and everything. It's just that he wants to be closer to home."
