Caveat: I like KW and have no problem with him. I just don't see how he sticks around.....

I'm a new coach coming into Nebraska, a hugely high pressure situation no matter who I am. I'm looking at keeping some coaches. Over here we have Keith Williams. I know the kids love him. But I also know that the WR are prone to dropping passes. That doesn't necessarily mean that KW is a bad coach, but it means he isn't perfect. I also know he is the resident drunk driver. Yeah he has promised to not do it again, but how many times has he probably promised his head coach to not do it again, and yet I know he has done it again on multiple occasions?

I'm coming into this high pressure situation needing to get things right after the previous three staffs had giant missteps with assistants.

There's plenty of other WR coaches out there who can coach WR just as well or better, especially regarding possession.

There's plenty of other WR coaches out there who can recruit at an effective level.

There's plenty of other WR coaches out there who don't have baggage.

And last there are WR coaches I personally know as a guy who has coached at multiple places who are all three of those things, and I don't personally know KW.

Anyway, I don't know if Frost is keeping any of Riley's coaches, but I can't see how KW would be a logical choice given what Frost needs to get going.

However, if Frost wants to keep KW that is fine. If he wants to get rid of him it is fine. I'm not saying what I think he SHOULD do, but rather that I don't see him keeping KW just looking at the situation objectively.

This is my personal submission for the flood of hot takes in new threads.
