Meh (shrugs) Sounds like a lot of work. Since it's a message board post and not a birthday cake I think I'll leave it

So? Are you saying that doesn't give him the right to disagree with a comment written today about him? He had every right to correct what was written publicly if he disagreed with the author on an assumption made (correct or not). The author obviously didn't run it by him for his thoughts prior to printing. He obviously disagreed and wanted it known. So he responded in a manner that he felt like would get that message across. I'd say message received.
There are nasty games the media and programs play with each other (with big $$$$$ in the middle). Putting college kids in the middle is asking for it on both sides. This is not a professional team with professional players that is being written about here 24/7/365...
Love the desire and fire shown by this comment. Altho some may say he should've not said it there like that, I think everyone knows now that he's a competitor (even when written off in the press).

Brilliant analysis. Let me help you further this argument. "It's all like cancer. You can't just remove the main tumor (ahem...Bo) and leave lots of other cancer cells behind and think the patient will be OK. You are only cured when all of the cells are out of the body."Another Pelini guy running his mouth. Will be so glad in a few years to rid ourselves of his players. Dont expect a lot this year from this defense. I know most think it will be a drastic change under Banker but dont think much will change until we get his players onboard.
I am really confused, if you don't start aren't you by definition a backup? My response as a reporter would have been very simple, "are you starting against BYU"?Did ya'll see this? Not sure what he's referring to? Keith trained at the "Bo Pelini Media skills" course...

I'm not sure why he was so upset about being called a backup but don't minimize his contributions. He played hurt a bunch to try to help plug some of the holes on the depth chart left by Carl and Bo's crappy recruiting. IF he's 100% healthy this year he may very well be the starter ahead of Valentine. The bottomline though is that we HAVE to have at least 4 game ready starter caliber defensive tackles and he is at the very least in the top 3. Throw the guy a bone and alternate starts if it's close because you know he's going to play a bunch anyway. Back in the day a friend of mine tore up a shoulder and lost his starting job to Dave Rimmington on the freshman team. I don't think he every started a game after that freshman year but he alternated series with Rimmington and was drafted in the second round after he graduated. With Rimmington's knees, he was a crucial asset to the team as a "backup".I think "backup" sounds a lot better than "reserve" or second team". I like Williams and think he will really contribute this year unless he suffers another injury.
