Jerry finally whacks MM-Prime to the Boys?

I love that people think the UNC AD would not "give the keys" to Bill before he signed his contract. This is not a ****ing job at the YMCA where you are waiting for a background check before you let the new guy "close by himself"
Is that normal to announce a new coach before they actually have a signed agreement?

Normal? Probably not???

Like I said though, I think Bo became the NU coach with just a handshake deal.

I am guessing it happens because you want to announce the coach ASAP while maybe just some sort of little details are getting worked out? I have no idea.

Didn’t say it had to be his official contract. But Bill B had never coached in he NCAA before. There has to something on paper that allows him to recruit for a NCAA member institution. Just saying.
You used to have to pass a NCAA recruiting test. My guess is now that is just online and takes 10 minutes and more than likely he just had some dude on staff take it for him.

And that’s all am saying. I agree some official contracts take a while to get all the information and clauses etc. especially at a school where you need some State confirmation to ok the contract. He probably hasn’t signed it yet. But he has agreed in principle somehow and I think there would be witnesses. I don’t believe he is going to renig and go to the NFL. If he did with tje agreement in place and with witnesses I would think that the buyouts would be binding. Now if the AD didn’t cover all bases he would be a fool.

I think you're spot on here. Hence his name not really having any legs in this thing, relatively speaking. Watching and listening to sports TV/radio damn near all day, the Cowboys job has been talked to death. The Belichick thing has gotten a few passing mentions.

Yes. You can sign a memorandum of understanding that lays out the essentials of the deal. That would allow Belichick to do the day to day stuff, the. when the contract is completed, that is signed.

This is probably way more common than people know about. It just isn’t in the news because the new college coach isn’t a hot commodity coach with multiple Super Bowl titles in the NFL.

Would you expect the buy-out to be in place with such a deal?

The new HC at Michigan didn’t have a signed contract to start the season. He mentioned something about it after game 3. The press ran a few stories, and Michigan got off their ass to produce a contract for him.

Apples to oranges. Sherman Moore was already under contract with Michigan.

Even if he has signed it, it doesn't matter. So the buyout is 10 million dollars. Jerry Jones wouldn't care.

Just for fun I ChatGPT'ed it

If Jerry Jones, with a net worth of $17 billion, spends $10 million, it would be equivalent to someone earning $75,000 a year spending about $44.12.

I mean, is it really that big of a deal to JJ if that is who he wants?
