Javin Wright coming back

"7th season" - wow, that's quite an accomplishment.
It's great to see a player that wants to be here and stay in the program. Plus his skill set for an inside LB(excellent in pass coverage and tackling in space) will really help out the defense next season. I hope he can be the on and off the field leader that Ty was for the team this past year. Excellent news!

So he'll be what..25 next season?

I'm surprised so many people are OK with 25 y/o's still playing CFB....not trying to start any fights, just making an observation. Seems weird to me. He will be playing with kids who were in grade school when he enrolled in college.

College football is now essentially AA/AAA pro football so I don’t see it as much different from 25-30 year old “career” minor league baseball players who never advance to the big show. Of course mid-20s grad students who often may have barely eked out a bachelor’s degree isn’t a good look for the schools. It used to be a challenge to be admitted to grad school but apparently now it’s automatic for skilled athletes.

The current situation is surely messy and no one is in charge.

AA/AAA is 1000% pro ball..so zero issues if an older player wants to do it.

....and with 7 yr+ college people, injuries are usually the driver...so that means somebody is injury prone, so taking that risk again at an older age for college football seems like an odd risk to me. Of course if there is a fat NIL pillow ro fall back on that helps, but i'd be embarrassed to do it personally....but I wear spandex and shave my legs so what do I know

My daughter plays softball at USD and as a freshman last year played against a lot of grown 23-25 year old women. Big difference. Especially in the pitching area.

Don't care enough about girls sports to really have much of an opinion on that but 23? Meh...24? Outer limit, but OK (assuming circumstances beyond your control) ...but 25? Time to get on with your life. YMMV
