Many of us, and nearly everyone outside the fan-base, thought the Riley hire would end badly. But most of us skeptics gave it a chance anyway, and most of us even rooted for Riley to win. Those on high said we'd know where we stood after the Ohio State game. Well, now we know.
Most of us like Riley, but it's clearly time for him to go. He should be relieved of his duties by Rimington as soon as we have an agreement in place with the new AD -- hopefully this week. The new AD can come in with a blank slate and the opportunity to do a thorough HC search.
There's no point delaying the inevitable. Making this change will give us our best shot at salvaging the recruiting class and a bowl game. It's time to start Nebraska's next chapter.
