Iowa Game

Tell me how we lost to the Hawks. They look slow, sluggish, and unmotivated. BC looks like the better team so far.

I hope you watched the end of the game. I am no Iowa fan, BUT, if the Huskers are going to play them every year then I want Iowa to beat BC. My wife went to Purdue and once again I was happy for my wife but I was more happy another conference foe won. Are we getting petty as fans? In the old days I always wanted Big Eight-Twelve teams to beat non conference foes. I felt it would make us look better. When I moved to Seattle in the late seventies and went to Husky games I was stunned when the crowd would cheer and go crazy when the PA announced that a USC or WSU was getting beat by a non conference opponent. I always thought Huskers fans were too smart to do that.

So Iowa kicked us in both nuts this season and also gave OSU a titty twister. But.... 7-5??? Honest question Hawkeyes, was this a good season or a bad season? I think I'd be pretty frustrated.

Frustrating and bipolar. We were one play from beating Penn State and Northwestern, shut down Josh Allen, went 4-0 out of conference against 4 good bowl teams including Iowa State, blew out tOSU, laid eggs against Wiscy and MSU AND beat the hottest team in the season's 2nd half (with the best Freshman in America) in our bowl.

All-in-all the season is a success as the bowl drought is snapped. Funny because Iowa had a nice three year run before that with Outback, Orange, and Insight wins over top 15 programs.

like i said, we have six 5 loss seasons since 1962. the guy iowa pays millions of dollars each year to coach their shit squad from now until the end of eternity has thirteen 5 loss seasons. Iowa blows.

Someone is hurting, eh champ? My advice: stop living in the past. The five previous seasons to your convenient 1962 cut-off date, Iowa went to three Rose Bowls and won a National Championship. But you rarely hear us, or any program worth its salt, go on like Nebraska does about "history". Trust me, I know how crippling this mindset can be: I'm an Iowa wrestling fan.

You will be favored to finish 2nd next year in the West, behind Wisconsin. The year after that, the West will be wide open.
Finishing 8-5 with a young team and one of the nations toughest schedules makes this squad a favorite in the West next year.

No, Iowa will not be the favorite. It has been 10 years, since Iowa last beat Wisconsin at home.

The Badgers are the clear favorite. Northwestern may get some love. Purdue is moving in the right direction, but 2018 is still a question. No one will overlook them in 2018.

Wisconsin was young this year, as well.

LSU was the AP & UPI National Champs.. Nothing against FWAA but Iowa was 8-1-1 and LSU was unbeaten..

Iowa went to two Rose Bowls 1957 and 1959 and not three..

Plenty of schools talk history not just Nebraska... Michigan does Ohio St does Oklahoma does USC does Texas does Notre Dame does...

Iowa has 2 Rose Bowl wins and one Orange Bowl win through out it's history... It that living in the past or is that history?

Nebraska has won Numerous bowls in the Orange, Sugar, Fiesta and Cotton...

The Grantland Rice Trophy was considered the National Champion award as it was given out after the bowl game results, the AP and UPI selections were made prior to the bowl games and the bowl game results were never taken into consideration, thus Grantland Rice trophy was considered the true champion.

Yup, as it turns out, Iowa's MVP during the Nebraska - Iowa series has been Nebraska's Chancellor, Harvey Perlman...for hiring our worthless AD, who hired Mike Riley. It begs the question of Harvey Perlman having any close ties to the Iowa athletic department.
Not sure but I know your former and current DC do.

If the AP or UPI voted afterwards they wouldn't have voted Iowa over an unbeaten LSU team..
LSU won the Sugar Bowl.

And only Iowa believe's they were the true national champions...Lol...

You do realize had LSU lost they still would have had the trophy. BTW the NCAA recognizes Iowa as the champion in 58.

That's a moot point since LSU DIDN'T lose. But that's the same scenario when it comes right down too it because 1970 Texas team who actually did lose their bowl game and won the UPI because of voting before the bowls...

Oh, I get it now...you work for either the Hawkeye Sports Information Office or the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce. You lost to Northwestern, Purdue, and by 24 to Wisconsin. Snap out of it!

But we crushed you and The OSU and Penal ST got lucky, we fear no body and beat everybody fear us and forget the past!

Beat you're chest again beating the worst Nebraska team since 1961... Not to mention the worst hire by our Ex-AD.

Purdue finished ahead of Iowa for 3rd... Iowa has never been lucky evero_O

Remind me again how relevant the games against Ohio State and Ped State are, when you lost 3 games to West opponents, including losing to Wisky by 24? You won't be the favorite in the West next year, which you already know, but continue to troll.

Like I said, Iowa's MVP vs Nebraska in this series was actually from Nebraska's side, our Chancellor, for hiring the AD that hired Mike Riley. You're welcome for the gift.

LSU also played only segregated teams...aka all white teams.

And a all white Alabama team beat a non segregated Nebraska team in the 1966 Orange Bowl and won the National title.

Now what?

KF has the most wins for an Iowa head coach and beat MR head to head three straight years and still has a losing record against Nebraska, that fact alone should keep Iowa fan quiet.

That you can't keep our games within 4 touchdowns the last couple years should keep NE fans quiet. 96-24.

Nope your dead wrong. Us Huskers are actually very excited about the future. I’m fine not being in a crap bowl like Iowa was in, in exchange to lose Riley and gain the Coach of the Year and have a promising future ahead. God you Iowa dorks try to dam hard to knock us and it only makes you guys look worse. enjoy repeating the same thing over and over again, yea we lost to you guys bad under Riley....uh oh Iowa....Riley’s gone now....give it time and that shit will get stomped into the ground. You will see a lot better Husker teams in the future. Yes you guys MIGHT win next year....again that’s might win, after watching that crap show Iowa put out on the field in there crap bowl game...but your delusional if you think a coach like Frost won’t turn a Blue Blood football team like the Huskers around. So enjoy it will you can, it won’t be this way much longer. So miserable? not even in the least bit. We are all excited and pumped.
Dorks ? Man it is nice to be transported back to 1959 when we last used that I forgot what Dorks is short for but then I'm old.

And Iowa fans should send flowers and gifts to Eichorst and for Perlman who hired him for their success the last 3 years.
That’s on your dime, we just play whatever product you bring to the table. We aren’t the only team in the B1G that has Nebraska’s number, Scooter has his work cut out for him that’s for sure.

Nope. Guess again.
No one believes you’re in Chicago, my money is on Waterloo or Cedar Rapids, in a van down by the river.

Just for fun and since you’re here, could you list the B1G teams that KF, the coach with the most wins in Iowa’s history, has a losing record against? To help, I’ll get you started:

tOSU
Nebraska......

Iowa has MRs number, KF still has a losing record to Nebraska. Must suck knowing your team is going to lose 5 games in 2018. I think Iowa starts next season 0-2.

Well no $&it, only teams that didn't beat Riley in the conference.

Michigan- didn't play
Michigan State- beat once
Rutgers
Indiana
Maryland

Who ever we hired you would be saying they have their work cut out for them.
enjoy you're Bowl win since we joined the B1G.

You're right, just born and raised there. Cold where you're at? Bundle up!

Agreed. Unlike Iowa we don’t celebrate 6-8 win seasons deep into a coaches tenure. How pathetic.
True. Instead you fire your coaches to make yourselves feel better, foolishly thinking you can bring back the OLD (vey old) days while everyone else laughs at your delusion and refusal to accept the modern college football landscape. Spoiler alert: The '90's AREN'T coming back.
