Actually they aren't. I've been to IC, not just for 3 games [2 recent, not yesterday] but also a facilities tour this past summer on our way to the Quads City area. Nice, much improved but not in Nebraska's class.

Cool article, which says "belong in that group". Unfortunately for Iowa fans, you're not in that group. There's a difference, congrats on matching 2008 Nebraska.

Don't know how it would be unfortunate for Iowa fans as you mention, but I am not going to argue the point. I know Nebraska has elite facilities and I have only seen the videos (locker room is amazing), but there are many rankings and comments I've seen that mention they are comparable. Lots of things go into I guess, including the proximity to Kinnick which I have seen.

I will admit that I love Kinnick Stadium. One of the best places to watch a game in all of college football.

Not sure what the United Nations facilities are like, NU's are nicer.

Wrong. We can start at your start at your shitty stadium and go from there. Iowa is still behind Nebraska.
Wrong, Iowa's facilities are nicer, yours are 10 years old or so at the time they were state of the art, but much like a new car the newer the better. I like Kinnick much better than Memorial Stadium. Kinnick is much closer to the action, no bad seats, better concessions and rest rooms.

Says the guy that obvious hasn't been to our facilities. Kinnick is a shit hole, just like the program that plays there 7 times a year.

GBRHusker - thanks for proving my earlier point correct. The extreme fans (you included) make the fanbases look like morons. The rest of the Husker posters in this thread are the majority - able to think and interact with some common sense. I experienced it both in Lincoln and Iowa City. Both fanbases have people like you - maybe that's a good thing? I guess we need morons to keep the rivalry "heated."

Should I not host Iowa fans next year in Lincoln then? Should I not bring 3 Iowa fans and not charge them a penny for the tickets I buy for them? Should I charge them a rental fee for staying at my house?

Give me a break, calling me or anyone else a moron doesn't help your case.

Extreme fan means someone telling it like it is? I've also stated Iowa knocked us all over the field yesterday. I guess that's not being an "extreme Husker fan", but a realistic one.

Spare me, Iowa's facilities are nice, but they're not in the class of Nebraska.

The world needs ditch diggers.

I guess you forgot the "shithole" comment? Man do I feel for the poor people you are "hosting" as you say.

These are the comments that make fans of any team look foolish. Nothing you said is true, but it certainly makes you look very petty and small minded.

You may want to step back from the keyboard and get some fresh air ..... unless making absurd statements makes you feel like a big man.

Petty because Nebraska has better facilities? No, that's me calling it like it is.

Heat is off, windows are open, plenty of fresh air throughout the house.

You Hawkeyes try way too hard looking for validation. You're not gonna get it with me. Don't like it, that isn't my problem.

No. Iowa has a much nicer facility for the athletes. Much nicer
Nebraska has a bigger stadium but I highly doubt they have better practice and training facilities than Iowa after Iowa's recent upgrades. Not saying Nebraska doesn't have good facilities. It ebbs and flows. Next time Nebraska spends $100 million on their facilities they will probably have better facilities than Iowa.

NO one cares about you or any type of validation .... it's called giving someone rope and watching them hang themselves with it. You aren't smart enough to realize that's what you are doing ..... keep going though, it's highly entertaining .....

You're on a Husker message board.

You're quoting & responding to my posts.

It's obvious you "care".

No, I don't care .... but I am entertained. People can go to message boards and interact with each other without throwing baby-like temper tantrums (which is what your posts are) .... so, when coming across an adult "baby" like you, I find it comical to watch you prove it, over and over again, with every new post. Again, you aren't smart enough to realize it, but as I said, continue on ..... it's hilarious.

I'm not the one getting worked up. Thinking you're one upping someone by egging on, while getting played in the process, is a thing of beauty.

Keep looking for validation.

Got back from Iowa City late last night/early this morning, couldn't sleep. That was one of the most frustrating games in the history of Husker football.

This was my first trip to Kinnick, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say I am a little jealous of their tailgating scene. I love Lincoln, but I wish we had their tailgating scene instead of the bars.

Second of all, their fans were great, despite kicking our ass. I had so many genuinely nice interactions with them, which made it even harder to dislike them.

Last but not least, I've come to the realization (as did others in our group) that Husker football as we knew it in the 90's is NEVER coming back. We are not an elite program. We are not a blueblood of college football. We are painfully mediocre. Iowa football is now above our level and that's painful to admit. When was the last time we won a high profile bowl game? Fiesta bowl maybe 15 years ago?

Are you located out of LeMars? Surprised it's only your first trip to IC for a game-although, I suppose it's the same timeframe to trek down to Lincoln for a game.

Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed everything (but the outcome, of course). I hope you come back!

We don't need validation it was on the scoreboard yesterday.

Yes it was, but it doesn't change your fellow fans are still here looking for it.

You don't really understand the definition of the word "validation", but that's OK, it has more than 2 syllables .... what most are/were here for was some decent interaction (if you don't know it, there are plenty of huskers over on our board), but instead we came across your "thumb sucking" antics, and much like a car accident, it's drawn a bunch of gawkers. Thanks for the entertainment.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll come back with some "knife-like" retort, like "keep responding", so I'll let you get the last word in ..... you'll feel superior, and that's what's important.

I'm well aware of what validation means. I couldn't care less how many Husker fans are on the Iowa board. It's moot to you Hawkeyes over here thinking your facilities are equal to or better than Nebraska. They aren't.

I'll keep responding as long as you keep looking for validation, calling names and overusing the " feature on your device. Or, the device you're using at the local library.

Did they tell you that they think you're kind of a douche? Or did they keep that to themselves? :)

They did mention how their fan base has little man syndrome, like you.

Dug deep in your book of 'clever comebacks' for that one. LOL. Just keep it in mind next time you host them. It will pop into your skull when you least expect it 'they think I'm a douche'. I'm sure that moment will be hard for you. :)

Kinnick was nice in regards it was easy to move around the stadium for the most part, but concessions and restrooms were horribly congested (to be fair, I haven't been to a facility other than maybe PBA where this isn't an issue). Thought there could be more TV's/screens in the concourses for those waiting in line could keep up with what was going on on the field.

The views in Kinnick are nice, not a bad seat in the house. I was surprised I guess at how small the stadium seemed. It holds 70,000 but I guess it just doesn't seem/feel like it. Maybe it's because of how it is sunken into the ground, but it just feels like four sets of grandstands and not a "stadium". The atmosphere and electricity were fine, just felt like the four sections were more separated than what I would have anticipated them to be.
