We need to hire an athletic director first. Hopefully soon.
Don’t get me wrong...Riley clearly sucks. But who runs the program then? Langsdorf? God no. That would be even more of a shit show than it already is.NU football used to win Championships. THIS is pathetic loosing to bad team.
IF he gets fired during the season, it's more likely to come after the Ohio St. game when they have a bye week coming up ... and more justification for it.They can fire Riley before the AD comes and the leadership will help the AD with the hire.
If it is a beat-down next week, I can see MR being let go. I could also see MR reaching an internal agreement that secretly allows him to announce a retirement at the end of the season....this would actually be the best case scenario. It allows NU to go and get there guy and gives MR a dignified way out.

Those hoping for a going away aren't thinking. He signed an extension 10 months ago. He has a buyout. If I'm him I'm saying "Fire me"
We do not want to fire a coach during the season. Nothing good can come from that. The season will play out and it will probably be clear what the choices are. That will allow everyone to position themselves in the best possible light.

You forgot the Minnesota train wreck. But they will probably be playing their best ball by the time we play them.I don't think firing him tomorrow solves anything.
Hope we can win a few more and he can bow out gracefully. I was hoping for a bowl game retirement for him after at least 6 wins but it doesn't look good now.
Northwestern, Purdue, and I guess Iowa are our best chance. It would be wonderful if we at least got that, as long as Riley goes afterward.
But Bielema was so good at Wisconsin. How could he have possibly failed at his new gig??Hey, it could be worse. Bert Bielema at Arkansas has a $15 million buyout.
So a guy pours gas on a flame and we worry about his exit? Really? F you for thinking that way.

I think the leadership will decide just to cut bait and not even wait until an AD is hired. Why hire an AD and make the AD fire Riley on the first few days on the job?
Huh?Yeah, so lets keep our career losing HC stay as long as he wants! Two losing seasons in three years......so what? Being PC is far, far more important than "results"......of course!
A bowl game is looking doubtful at this point.I look for him to coach the rest of the season, get to 6-6, be asked/directed to step aside after Thanksgiving, Diaco to be asked to be Bo-circa 2003 as a first year D.C. asked to hold team together through a bowl game at which time a new coach will be announced.
Yes forgot minn. You forgot the Minnesota train wreck. But they will probably be playing their best ball by the time we play them.
For now tho, I think we count them as a possible victory more than Iowa...

Not trying to be like 4.6.3Oh jeez... 4.6.3 is much better at this than you.
