A 2-5 team… we just lost to a 2-5 team.

Of course we did. And then there’s Indiana, with their first year coach sitting at 8-0 with a yet another decisive victory today.

This team of ours makes it hard to be a fan sometimes.

Pathetic.

Edit: correction, Indiana is at 9-0 now.

Sadly I can't even be surprised. I predicted we'd win but knew there was a decent chance we'd lose. UCLA is not a good football team. But neither are we.

We should have won. That said, if you look at their schedule….we’d be 2-5 or 1-6 with their schedule. If ucla had our schedule, they’d be 7-2

The game was close because of stupid penalties by UCLA. The offense is broke. Satt has no answers.
I agree. We have a lot of issues. This loss was about us. But to say “they’re 2-5. They suck” is misleading. Which of these games they lost would we win?

Indiana
@LSU
Oregon
@penn st
@minnesota.

I’d argue none. And we would lose at Rutgers.

Can't wait for next year. 2-7 looks probable if major changes aren't made.

Look at the conference records- a 2-3 team lost to a 1-4 team. Now both teams are 2-4. That's about where this team deserves to be.

Was it their better players or their better coaching that makes you say this?
“Should have won” was maybe a poor choice of words. “Have the talent to win”. “We shat the bed”. Once the game started, it was clear they were better than us today.

Honestly I’m not shocked. There was no urgency from this team until maybe the last 5 minutes of the game. I guess they used it all up against Colorado (in the First half anyways).

I’ll just say it right now. They lose out and will miss a bowl game.

The only thing that can be fixed now is some Assistants need to be replaced and a position by position evaluation and have some guys replaced through the Transfer Portal. What Prime did does make sense because there is TOO MUCH dead weight in this program.

Good teams get better/progress every week, we’ve been going backwards and staying stagnant. Rhule is not a good coach.
Satt is killing us. We have a very vanilla offense. We run the same plays every week. There is nothing to keep the defense guessing. There’s no attempt to confuse a defense pre snap. Defenses know everything we are trying to do and satt has not adjusted at all

Nebraska should have won because they have more talent. Once the game started, no longer mattered.

UCLA lead the entire game, Nebraska never really got close. Questionable Unsportsmanlike Penalties kept them in the game or it would have been uglier than the score indicated.

Which makes Rhule a bad coach for not correcting this offense way back in the second half of the Colorado game..

I hope Dannen calls Rhule into his office Monday morning and hands him a plastic cup for a drug test.

It’s damn insulting is what it is. Rhule
Is to blame. That is all.

Looks like the Indiana loss took a lot more out of us than we realized. Kind like the Colorado blowout yrs ago!

Rhule definitely owns this as he hired Satt. But here is the question…does Satt know how to do anything else? So far, I’d venture no. I just think Satt is a one trick pony. How do you fix that other than fire him? And that’s the rub and where it lands on Rhule.

UCLA was never as bad as their record and we were never as good. All of our wins this year were over some either vey bad teams or a team that had a really bad half at the start of the season.
Plug our team into their schedule...
We win the same two games against Hawaii and Rutgers and lose to LSU, Oregon, Indiana, PSU, and Minnesota.

I'm not sure NU has more talent. We could beat them though running the right plays.
Ethan Garber as a senior at this point in the season is better than our guys. Player for player look at the comparisons. They are far from a bad team talent-wise.

This is why I don’t understand the Satterfield hate as Rhule is the one who hired him. He’s the one that continues to enable repeated incompetence.

Lol, imagine if that was our schedule. Indiana is a "must win", "expect to win" and they might have been the best team on the schedule and would have beat us by 40 at home with a new coach. Talk about ripping the band-aid off. We would likely have been 1-6 and Rhule almost surely fired by the end of next year. In the current age of 40 teams in a conference unbalanced scheduling is a real thing...Our schedule could not have been friendlier outside of the back to back road games, but even OSU was looking ahead when they played us. No reason we couldn't be 8-1 with a marginally better offensive staff.
