Head Coach Riley - As I have stated before, he looks beaten. His body language is terrible during the losses. I don't know what he has left in his tank but it can't be much. The problem here is that the players mirror their head coach. We saw Bo P act like a goofus maniac so we had players who would draw stupid flags and create bone headed errors. TO was stoic and focused, so were his guys. Riley looks like a boxer on the ropes hoping the bell will sound and save him. I rest my case.

OC Langsdorf - This was supposed to be the year he had his type of QB and a guy who basically spent all of last year just learning. It has turned out that QB play has dropped off compared to last year. This is a huge problem since his pedigree was that he worked with Eli Manning in the NFL and he would develop QBs. He hasn't. Also, he can't get his running backs going and into any rhythm. I am not sure we need to keep him around much longer.

OL Coach Cav - Nebraska needs to be putting lineman into the NFL on a regular basis. We have talent and he has been able to recruit some but there isn't much development after they get on campus. Major upgrade needed here.

RB Coach Davis - A healthy Bryant may have shown that Davis knows what he is doing. Oz is good but his use has been an ongoing mystery. Wilbon looks great one play and then....not great. No big recruits last year outside of local talent. (BTW I like Bradley) I am not sure what we are doing with this position as a whole. Direction unclear.

WR Coach Williams - If Twitter held any tangible importance this guy would be coaching in the super bowl. The weakness this team has at WR is partially on the anemic recruiting of Bo P and the rest is on Williams lack of being able to keep a recruit committed or on campus after the papers are signed. Injuries have been huge but more so transfers and wash outs. I would say that the future is unclear. Tyjon and JD look good but both are small and I don't see much behind them so it looks like freshman will need to be huge next year. Will they make it to campus? MaQuitty injury was killer, man could we use his height this year.

TE Thompson - Why are we paying this guy? Non-existent production in catches and blocking is sub par. If we let him go nobody will remember his name in a week or two.

DC Diaco - This guy needs more time. I think we should keep him. Young, talented and has the right image for NU. He really needs an upgrade at LB to get guys that fit his system. Having your top CB go down and the other moved to safety to start the season is a killer.

Safeties/ST Coach Booker - Thrown into a situation at the last minute. Tough spot and injuries have not helped. Special teams have been pretty good.

DLine Coach Parrella - Good recruiting. Knows Neb. Guys are doing OK given the new system and some of them not being the right fit. Retain.

CB Coach Williams - It is obvious that he can bring talent to NU, but it is also obvious that he isn't developing it for the games. He also is the coach that inherited the most talent compared to any position. Losing Kalu and Jones hurts but he still has 4 stars Anderson, Jackson and Lee. Bootle is better than all of them. Jackson's play has been shameful. His guys need to improve before the season ends or he needs to go.

LB Coach Bray - OK recruiting in previous years, nothing yet this year. His guys on the field are a weakness and that has lots to do with the system change. Need to see improvement here to justify keeping him.

I do not like Langsdorf but I think you need to give the man some credit in regards to QB development. At the beginning of the year Lee was a train wreck and a big part of our problem. Now? He is playing much smarter and making good reads/throws under pressure. Tanner Lee is one of the strengths of this team right now. He is the least of our problems.

Our biggest problem is Cav and the offensive line. Our second biggest is linebacker. Funny how last year everyone was cheering our move to a 3-4 on the grounds that we had more good linebackers than lineman. Funny how nobody says that now. Our cornerbacks also suck, in both coverage and run support.

Sorry to disagree but all probably need to go...Diaco too. This base 3-4 bend but don't break just is not a good fit with the whole Blackshirts image. Just my opinion

How is that disagreeing? I never said any of these guys should be kept. I agree. They all need to go. As I said, I do not like Langs. But I don't think Lee is playing all that badly right now.

I wonder if a new staff comes in does the DC make as much as Diaco does, this is a interesting question that I have been pondering for quite some time. my thoughts are you keep this coach and give him another year, then make a decision, with that said, get rid of Cavs and Langsdork and bring somebody else in to coach them two spots.

We better be sure on Disco. Two or three classes recruited to a 3-4 will make it hard to switch if he leaves or is fired.

So... Williams has to go but Parrella has to say. That makes a boatload of sense.

Thompson is a GA not a full time coach---in actuality, the guy barely gets any pay

Last night I was thinking about how bad this group of seniors is. We are starting like one senior on offense (Pierson-El) who wasn't a walk on. On D we have what 3? Those 3 have been hurt a lot. I blame poor recruiting on Bo's part and Riley for not picking up a couple juco's since he has been here to make up for it. Could be that Riley just didn't develop any of the other guys. It just sucks all around. We do have a big group of juniors playing but I don't see them turning it around next year based on what I am seeing.

Look, it would be a very bad start to the new coaching regime if the AD starts dictating from the get-go who his staff should be. Period. Get this through our heads people: Diaco will stay if and only if the new coach wants him to. There is no way Moos is going to dictate that to the new coach. No way. If for no other reason... what evidence has Diaco given us so far that he is worth a damn?

The AD should only be worried with the head coach. His choice of assistants goes into the ADs evaluation.
This. An accomplished head coach will want to bring in his guys. The AD would only become involved in lower level staffing if one of the proposed assistants has a personal history or issue which may require a sign-off.

Look at that... "Keep the Nebraska guy"...

Edit: Look I get that Nebraska has to be different, and have an identity. I just don't think the past players and coaches are the only answer. I see you used Diaco as a token guy, to make you not look like a homer. Too bad it stands out like a soar thumb!

So I see

Frost - Head Coach
Eric Crouch - OC
Matt Davidson - WR Coach
Matt Herian - TE Coach
Dave Rimington - OL Coach

Diaco - DC Token Guy
Ralph Brown - Corners
Mike Brown - Safeties
Terrell Farley - LB
John Parrella - DL

^^^ Only way we can win right? BS

And yet Pierson-El might be the most overrated player on our offense. Once again on Saturday night he dropped a TD pass that was right in his mitts on the final hail mary toss from Lee at the end of the first half.

No doubt Pelini blew it... however Riley is the captain of the ship and waiting too long to make changes with staff and then changing defensive systems radically is a recipe for disaster for a football team and Riley is paid a lot of money to win games.... NEXT

If a new coach comes in there is a strong probability that all of the present coaches will be clearing out their offices in December, or in January if we make a bowl game.
