I was saddened by this boards response

Sorry for your loss. My memories of Billy Graham are mostly positive and he certainly tried to be a good ambassador internationally.

Fee people have accomplished more, for the purist reasons, than Graham.

Unfortunately, this site is nothing more than a social media medium and therefore, the gross anonymity that it accompanies.

NPR had a nice tribute to Billy Graham the day he died. I was struck by just how moderate he was, especially in comparison to his son who, at least given what he has said about Muslims and President Trump, only served to reinforce just how polarized and ideological we've become in our thinking on social, political, and humanitarian issues in the last 3 decades (Billy did not agree with him about Muslims).

The first response is exactly the point of the OP. Wise words from my grandfather,....... " Just because we have a thought, doesn't mean we always have to share it. " Translated by me.... "Sometimes just shut the F up"
While I agree with your grandfather and that people should be better. Maybe an internet message board full of strangers with different ranges of values and beliefs isn't the place to open yourself up to this. You will NEVER get %100 compliance when asking for people to be kind

Yesterday i shared a personal story about my parents 41 years of marrige Until my father past recently. They met at a Billy Graham rally in Dallas.. Neither from texas. He was a major influence in their lives too. He will be missed.
It was upsetting to hear the news and half this board just hates on people instead of words of condolence. It was locked
Sad half of you cant have sympathy for someone grieving and have to respond like biitter children.
Focus on the good.. Humanity is overall good, we are just flawed and struggling in our own different ways. I hope we start treating each other better

Sorry to hear about your Dad. If your parents met at a Billy Graham rally, they are some special folks. No wonder they were married 41 years. Awesome.

This thread is sad and hilarious at the same time. Feel bad for the OP, but damn dude. Use better judgement when choosing an audience for stuff like that and for god's sake, make sure you know which message board you're on when you blast the response to your post. 90% of us had no idea what this guy was talking about.
