i think we shock the world Saturday....

Hey, we got nothing to lose at this point; line em up and let's see what we can do.

Actually I do too. Not trying to be funny but Riley is good as an underdog.

Plus we always play them close or beat them.

I'm going to be bold and predict that we lose by 20+. This will be the first team with a pulse our team has played this year. Their QB is likely going to shred our D.

I'll be thrilled if our team wins, but I don't see it.

I think a Nebraska win is possible. The game is in Lincoln, and Michigan State has shown this season that they fall asleep when they think they have the game won. There may be a window of opportunity late in the game to pull off a win.

...and beat MSU....what do I base that on?

Not a clue...just don't think we are 3-6 bad...deserve to have one go our way....
I would like to share your enthusiasm, but they still have a lot to play for at this point. Michigan State would love to curb stomp us and Nebraska is still a quality win in this conference despite this year's dumpster fire of a team. Talent and coaching wise were are not a 3-6 team, but mix mediocre recruiting from the previous staff, an average coaching staff, a lot of injuries and no depth to speak of that's why we are 3-6 and laughing stock of the country right now.

We're not popular enough to be the laughing stock of the country. We are who we are.

I would have disagree with you, Nebraska is still a marque program, you can't erase what we did the 90's that easily. We have struggled a lot in the last several years, but a lot of teams have in the past as well.

Hope springs eternal. That being said, there will be a lot of sad, hopeless fans on Sat. eve. when the Huskers are 3-7.

No one outside Nebraska cares. Just like most fans could care less about anyone but their teams.

Come clean Spartan, were you drinking when you posted this last night? Nobody will judge you, but it would help some of us understand where you're coming from a little better :)

The spread seems to be quite telling in this one....the line started at 4 (if I remember correctly). I would be shocked if the Huskers won, but I won't be shocked if they play a really close game with the Spartans.

I suppose the part of the world that follows college football will be shocked because they never imagined they'd see Nebraska with a 3-7 record.

Upsets happen, of course, so Nebraska could certainly surprise. However, I think it's more likely that MSU wins comfortably...41-13, or something like that.

Yeah, I've never gambled but have always heard that Vegas moves the line to try to attract the most money. Then yesterday I hear a guy say that according to some web site he follows, about 80% of the money is on MSU and Vegas hasn't moved the spread at all which this guy said meant that Vegas was VERY CONFIDENT in their spread. I don't get it at all. If I had money to give away I think I'd bet the house on MSU this game. I think this game will be interesting to watch based on the betting line and to see what Vegas apparently is seeing that over 80% of everyone else isn't.

With all do respect. I don't think Cook will look any better than any other quarterback. They all decide to turn into Joe Montana when playing us. Some of the spots that some of these quarterbacks hit(Only when playing us) is mind blowing.

I think we lose, but it is going to be in the same fashion we have lost every other game

We arrived in O-town Wednesday for the annual migration to God's Country to see all the folks and attend my annual home game. It looked like a great game to attend when I dialed up the trip in July. I got tix in second to top row in 608 and assume it will be cold up there. We better not get stomped or it will be a cold miserable night.

We're talking about this over on the Iowa board, I think Nebraska wins on Saturday night, but I am not really sure how. For Nebraska to win they are going to have to stop or at least limit Connor Cook. How will they do that? Do you guys think that the Nebraska pass rush will get to him early and often, or do you think the secondary will finally step up?

I think Connor Cook bolsters his Heisman resume big time against our defenseless secondary. That means Tommy will need to play his best game ever to give us any chance.

You can say that about any team even Ohio St or Alabama. I still think we are somewhat relevant in the college football landscape, but that is fading every year we don't compete for some type of championship.

Heart and passion.

Nebraska- 24
Michigan State- 21
Wish I had your confidence in the this coaching staff, but I just can't fully support this staff and to some degree this team. Time will tell if these guys can coach or not.

Neither, this going to be on the offense to limit the touches Michigan State gets in the game.

No way we win. Not unless a different offensive line shows up. No running game against MSU, in my view. And no running game=too much passing and TA throwing up pics in the face of a strong pass rush. And why do we think that in this game we will have our own pass rush against Cook? So Cook will have all day to throw and will suddenly look like Tom Brady. We have made every QB we faced this year look like Brady. So why will this be different? I wish I shared your optimism, but I am fresh out of optimism.

I watched Riley presser last night and he was talking about preparation for a highly rated opponent. He talked about how you would like to have your team practice. He said the team looked to be focused and i like that. Call it a gut feeling.

So, are they going to actually commit to running the ball or are they going to try to dink and dunk with Armstrong to control possession? I don't understand why they keep abandoning the run so early. Newby isn't Abdullah, but he's certainly serviceable, Cross needs more carries and Ozigbo has certainly shown flashes, if they're going to control time of possession, they are certainly going to need those guys...

Riley has said a lot to make us feel good. We're 3-6.

In a word, NO!

Very little consistent push out of the OL. MSU will be too stout for us to run effectively, so you'll see our OC go nuts and throw it 50 times again. That will give them 2-3 TO's and more than enough advantage to put the game away. I do think Dantonio will be kind to Riley, since they're friends, so the final score may be respectable, but if Cook plays the whole game, he'll throw for 400.
