A player suing the NCAA for eligibility restrictions.
Wants 2 more years but if he wins there will be no more eligibility rules.
Are you ready for 30 or 35 year olds in College football that can't make the NFL?

I'd be just fine with it given how things are going. I'd rather take a late bloomer who's focused at making an impact at a school rather than an indecisive 20 year old on his 3rd transfer already.

So you are fine with a guy like jameis Winston playing for Nebraska over DR? Maybe we can get Adrian Martinez back. NIL pays better than the XFL

By the time NIL settles into something more sane, the XFL will be defunct. So your statement will always be true. The XFL also doesn’t have the revenue that college football has.

The Wisconsin Volleyball team is already doing it.

I personally think anybody playing college football past the age of twenty five is a complete and total loser...and that goes for our team to.
Says the losers hanging out on an internet message board. Half of us probably too fat or lazy to even get out of our reclining chairs or sofas on any given Saturday.

I can kind of see this viewpoint for someone going back for a multiple bachelor degree. But it's not at all uncommon to be over the age of 25 pursuing a graduate degree, and I don't see any reason why they should be ineligible to participate.

If you can’t make it at a higher level oh well. If I fail in high school can I just go back to 4th grade for a few years?
College football is only successful because of the brands that are more popular than pro teams. Michigan, Nebraska, Miami, USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State has long histories, massive fan bases and millions of alums. If a guy with N on the helmet was 35 would it matter, If we beat the team with hawkeye on the helmet? I don't think people watch college football for the high quality football, it isn't very high quality compared to the NFL, they watch because the product has emotional connections.

I posted this back in February, basically taking this lawsuit to the logic extreme. I was more of less called an idiot by several, namely @GBRforLife1 and @Big bo fan. What say you now?

My son’s juco team played against a DII team this fall that had Willi Castro’s (Twins player) brother playing. He’s already been in minor league baseball but apparently you can play DII after playing pro? All I know is he did well against juco pitching. Didn’t seem right.

I called you and idiot? My apologies! I meant moronic troglodyte.

Idky why it's so difficult for people to understand the NCAA shouldn't have control over someone outside the sport.

But setting the rules inside the sport is a reasonable function of the organization.

Anyone conflating these two things is not a serious person.

I said there would be lawsuits with legitimate questions regarding years/eligibility rules, and here it is. When you start paying people to play a sport, your rules that you want to make are now subject to all sorts of employment laws you could previously ignore.

I think your post lacks serious context. But you did call it. I award you 10 Internet points. Don't spend them all in the same place.

College is the best! I can see why people want to stay longer.

With that said, it is like if you are in a frat and you have a few 5th or even 6th year guys come around, it is just a little odd.

Now, these guys are trying to make money, so I totally get that, that is different.

Even creighton has two dorks that are in college on the team and married. I mean, how is that fun? Like, everyone else on the team is going out to have a good time and you are headed home to hang out with your wife.

...but what if their wife is their best friend?
